Went there for brunch on Sunday, and they were closed. With a sign right inside the door that said brunch 9am-3pm on Sunday. There is no sign of being unable to serve, no post on any social media platforms about what or why. Went somewhere else and at 2pm, passed it again to see if it ever opened and still closed.I've been to the Grove location when they were open, absolutely loved it! I have no doubt the food is fantastic. I just wish there was more clarity with what is going on.

This is the second time I’ve gone to Layla, with it saying it is open everywhere online and even on the building with the hours listed, and it was just closed. They have great food, but it’s a completely unreliable business. It’s so frustrating.

We went to the Webster Groves location to receive slow service and WAY overpriced food. The only thing that made that worse is that I now see in the news that they didn't use any of that money to pay rent. Seems to be a part of a trend with pretentious owners who lack business smarts or quality of character.

I wanted to visit for brunch, but they were closed! I have enjoyed Layla in the last because they have a robust number of vegetarian options, so my friends and I planned a get together there in Webster but Layla hasn't been answering their phones or facebook messages. Nothing on their website either. Also, they posted on IG a few weeks ago that they were closed one ONE Tuesday and would be back to business the next day...guess not because when we showed up, they were closed. Bummer.

i’ve been putting off saying anything publicly but it needs to be said: i quit on september 1st. at that point in time, i was owed three paychecks. today, september 28th, i have still received nothing and no communication as to when to expect them. as far as i’m aware, no one has received paychecks since mid-august & this business is still stealing wages and operating as normal. this is completely unacceptable & i want this business to thrive but if you can’t afford to pay the people who keep your business open, you shouldn’t be running a business. PLEASE do better.

Tbh this place is great, I'm only giving 1 star until they bring back the Wilfred Brimley. That burger was one of my favorites in STL.

This place is obnoxious and the staff do NOT care about cleanliness. I don't care how long you've been in the food industry--you've clearly been doing wrong all along. Don't touch your face, then my food. Don't act bored. Don't get defensive about every comment a concerned customer makes. The food is not quality for the price.Adieu.

We came here for dinner on a Friday night and had a good experience. I had the Patti Smith, and my husband ordered the Fuggedaboudit. He wasn't a huge fan of his sandwich, but mine was tasty. We were seated immediately on the patio and got quick service. Our waitress informed us that their fryer was down, so we wouldn't be able to order any of their fries or fried options but could still order their house chips. We were then later asked if we'd like to have fries, as they had figured out a different way of cooking them. They were out of a few cocktails and beers as well, but we were still able to get some good options. Even though we didn't get to try everything we'd like, it was still a good experience with a nice patio and kind service!

Have you ever had a dish at a restaurant and remembered it, like, YEARS later? That is the Taylor Swiss from Layla. The few times I've been to Layla. I've never had anything i didn't like. The red pepper hummus is incredible, but this particular sandwich just...has no business being so good. I will be remembering that first bite years from now.

Came here for lunch just the other day. Absolutely wonderful service; the employees are very kind and quick to help. Food was great, as well. The roasted red pepper is my favorite thing here, and I ordered it as my meal. I always add on the veggies with the pita, and it is worth the small upcharge. This is the best roasted red pepper hummus, and they top it with jalapenos which just adds to the flavor. It wasn't very busy, so I hope they are able to make it. Check this place out. Their burgers and chicken sandwich are also wonderful, as I have had them in the past.

Tried this unique local treat based on other Yelp reviews. Layla has an incredible wide range of complex and one of a kind meals. I tried the "Jane Says" which is a vegetarian red lentil burger with provolone cheese, smokey mango sauce, fried kale, tomato, and onion on a sweet potato bun. I had to ignore the fact that it looked like raw hamburger and just give in to the creative chef creation. It was fantastic. The fries had a sweet spice that I couldn't identify but was full of flavor. Service was quick, kind, and attentive. We ate outside but the ambience inside was remarkable. A fun blend of local breweries on tap with some standard cocktails from which to choose. Unique menu and unique decor inside. Set in historic Webster Groves this location boasts convenient parking right outside the front door because it is sitting on top of a two story garage. The central location made for an easy and pleasant after dinner stroll through downtown. Overall it was a great date night!

Been here twice and the experience was awesome both times. Chill place that makes me feel nostalgic for my high school BFF's parents' basement (in a good way!). Great vegetarian/vegan options and everyone working always seems to be in a good mood. Def recommend!
