My family and I came from out of town to take the kids to the zoo and found this place looking online for something we didn’t have back home and this was a fantastic experience very friendly people all around! Kids menu was perfect and all our food was brought to us amazing!! Hot fresh and just simply so good!!! If we get to come back and visit I would definitely come to eat here again!!!
amazing food! everything arrived quickly and looked gorgeous
We had been wanting to try this place for awhile. I went with a group of four and we all had to send our plates back because our proteins (steak, pork and salmon) were cooked incorrectly. Now at this point you think a manager would stop by the table - I've seen this done for at restaurants that aren't as expensive or nice as The Block. Once all of our food was brought back out the pork smelled rancid - probably not safe to eat. Again, no manager stopped by when we sent the pork...read full review

The Block Restaurant Webster Groves offers a pleasant dining experience with a nice atmosphere, casual and quiet enough for conversation. The service is prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable, with a waiter making sure food was out quickly. Guests can enjoy a variety of options on the menu, including salads, burgers, and entrees like sirloin steak and pork and dumplings. The Block burger was very tasty, and every burger seemed carefully composed with flavors that go together well. The Block salad and Fries were also very tasty, with everything tasting very fresh and delicious. The food and service was great. The atmosphere was very nice.
The Block is a wonderful place to gather with family and friends, with options for dining inside their beautiful dining room, outside at a patio table, or sitting at the bar for a quick drink and appetizer. The bar area offers attentive service, and the drink selection is decent. Guests have enjoyed tasty dishes like fried sprouts and the crispy chicken sandwich, with the fried sprouts being a standout. The pretzels were steaming hot and the onion cheese was amazing. They even made a drink for my wife that was not on the menu.
For those looking for something special, the chef always has amazing daily specials, and diners have enjoyed sharing the off-the-menu bolognese gnocchi, which could easily be a whole meal itself. The Gnocchi special was extremely hot and very delicious. The Butchers cut steak and fries were equally amazing, cooked per order, tender, juicy, and perfectly seared, served over steak sauce. The peach crisp and cinnamon ice cream was a great finish to the dinner. Overall, The Block provides a consistently good experience, making it a great spot to return to.
