“Wow! This place was soo cool. I found it via Google search for a good Cuban sandwich. I realized that I came here as a child when it was just a bar. The atmosphere is soo cool inside. The food is the best part though. The Cuban honestly did not impress me visually, but when I took a bite... oh my! The pork butt was soo good. My mom had the famous Picadilly fish. She wanted to try the Mayfair salad, but didn't want the whole salad so they made her a side salad with Mayfair dressing. They make this dressing in house and its amazing. I had a cup of Gumbo with my sandwich and it was soo good. I forgot to get a picture of it, but I have to believe it was homemade. I will definitely come back. You should come try it too.“

“It’s been a while since I’ve eaten at Michael’s and honestly, I forgot what I was missing. Tonight’s dinner was incredible. We started off with toasted ravioli. They were delicious and the meat sauce was really flavorful. I ordered the filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection. I’m also a huge fan of the beer battered fries. The rest of our table ordered the gyro sandwich and gyro salad. Both were incredible-some of the best gyro meat I’ve ever had. Burgers, hot dogs, and some surprise choices on menu like hummus, falafel, chopped salad. Portions small, prices fairly reasonable, service friendly. “I have been to Off Track Saloon a few times and have never left in disappointment. They have the best fried chicken and catfish I have ever eaten. Everything that I have tasted is so flavorful!! They do a lot of business so at times mistakes are made but they are very far and few in between... And always corrected. “The basement speakeasy under Grand Spirits had a very eclectic layout and decor and a very chill vibe; minimalistic with great music. A perfect hangout spot. Very few tables, so reservations are needed on weekends for sure. Your reservation gets you about 90 minutes of time on busy weekends; longer if there aren't reservations behind you. Cocktails range from twists on old classics (Manhattan, Daquiri, Sazerac) to very inventive / experimental flavors and textures. We had the Tunnel Vision, Daiquiri, Kitchen Sink, Sazerac among others. We enjoyed everything we had. Service was attentive and informative as well. We did not try the food. Would definitely recommend.“

“I’m giving everything five stars because the food and beer were good and the staff excellent, save one a-hole manager. Basically we were there on a busy running club night, and as a family of 4 having just arrived to St. Louis looking for dinner, we popped into Heavy Riff to give it a try. We waited in line with everyone else at the “front counter” and a lovely female bartender waited on us and let us know we could grab a table and then she’d help us on the side of the bar where it’d be less hectic for us to order (since we had kids in tow). This was very thoughtful and accommodating of her in the masses of young runners. We met her there and she offered great advice on what to order for kids (spice levels) and as a vegetarian. We were about halfway through ordering when Rick (I got his name later since he ruined the vibe of our experience) butted in and told her she was supposed to be taking orders at the front counter not side bar (about 4 feet away) and said she had to get back there. By his command she had to leave us hanging to wait for the “proper” bartender to take our order which was a few minutes later. He didn’t offer to help. Meanwhile as the staff was slammed with orders this Rick jerk just stood in the back and reined over the staff. He didn’t lift a finger. Even later when I went to settle the tab at the bar he stood at his throne position in the back scrolling, messaging on his phone. (Super unprofessional) I was standing right next to him and he didn’t ask if he could help me. I sure hope Rick isn’t the owner because if he is I would hope employees would quit. Rather, to the owner, it is time to find yourself a new manager as Rick is useless and frankly ruined the good energy we had going. I felt for the staff that had to deal with his power trip. Though we are staying fairly close by, we won’t be back.“

“Stan's is a fun little dive bar with a following of regulars during the week and karaoke/party folks on the weekend. Karaoke is often loud and jam packed, so choose your nights wisely if that's not what you're looking for. Otherwise they have cheap drinks, pool, basic snacks (chips etc.) to help soak up the booze or you can bring in real food. Can also be a chill spot to grab a drink in the early afternoon and catch a game and you'll often find Stan hanging out at one of the high tops with his people. As others have mentioned the bathroom set up is strange..2 toilets close together, separated by a wall with no stall doors - so if you want privacy double check that you've locked the door to the bathroom itself. There's also a cool little laundromat down the street, so if you time it right..well, you get the idea!!!“

“Very nondescript bar on McKelvey road across the street from Maryland Heights Community Center. This was formerly The Drinking Horn and they have preformed wonders inside/ It's clean , roomy with new tables plenty of TVs for sports viewing and the best bartenders around especially Ronnie! They have Trivia at 7:30 on Thursday evenings and Karaoke on Friday They pour a respectable drink , offer pizza for purchase or you can bring in outside food. If you're in the area give them a try you might just like it.“

From the super cool 100+yr old one lane bridge on the road in, to the money stapled to the ceiling, this place would be equally at home in places like New Orleans or Chicago. “Our first time here and it was great! Our server Genesis was sweet, bubbly, and attentive. The food was fantastic! Had burrata salad (off menu special), the Tiger rolls, and brisket dipper. Other than the au jus being a little too salty (which is prob normal, I don’t like things that are too salty) would eat it all again it was so good! And the servings are huge, we have enough leftovers for two more meals. The cocktails were also terrific- it’s hard to find a Vieux Carré outside the French Quarter but they make a good one! Sazarac was also delicious. Will be recommending this place to others and will definitely be back!“

Very pleasant greeting and seating experience. Service was prompt, pleasant, and very knowledgeable. We ordered a salad - split - as a starter and the sirloin steak and pork and dumplings as entrées. Salad was well presented and unique. Nicely chilled. Wine by the glass was excellent. Entrées came out quickly and well presented. House cut steak was thick and perfectly rare, as requested. Delicious! Diced potato, fresh green beans and house made steak sauce surrounding the steak. Pork dish was a complex assembly of ingredients - pulled pork, small dumplings, fennel, sauce with shaved hard cheese topping. Both dishes were delicious and huge portions. Only knock was both dishes were very salty. I have seen this comment before in reviews of this restaurant. I recommend when ordering to ask for less salt. My wife is an acknowledged salt-a-holic and it was a little too much for her. Without the salt dosage this is a 5 star food rating! We will visit again.“
