The only complaint I have is the hostess took a call and proceeded to engage whoever was on the phone leaving use standing without be addressed for several minutes. The service provided by Amanda was phenomenal, she was very attentive and oh so kind. The staff engaged often with the customers making sure all was well throughout the course of dinning. “Today was the 1st time I’ve been to The Manship. We sat outside as the day was overcast and comfortable temps. The atmosphere is laid back southern elegance. Lunch menu choices made it difficult to choose. We started with the seasonal cocktail, a very Manship twist on a French 75 served frozen in a coupe and garnished with a violet. This is one I hope they make a permanent part of their menu. Perfect balance of sweet/sour and delightful on the palate. Next we shared smoked tuna dip served with what I think were fried tortillas seasoned with chili lime and saltine crackers. It rivals the best smoked tuna dip I’ve ever had from along the Atlantic. For entrees we chose small plates: Manship Woodfired Oysters served with focaccia and a special of Bbq pork belly served with Brussel Sprout slaw. I am not fond of brussel sprouts & surprisingly I loved the slaw. The oysters were beautifully served in a dish that kept them warm and not overcooked. The thick slices of bread were perfect for dipping in the butter sauce used in cooking the oysters. The pork belly was so good. Just the right amount of rub and sauce cooked to tender, melt in your mouth perfection. Our server was a total pro. I feel so bad because I didn’t write down her name. My daughter who was with me once worked as a server at a restaurant much like Manship. She was very impressed because our dishes arrived in perfect order and timing. She was knowledgeable about every item on the menu. Do yourself a favor and go eat at this wonderful establishment! We will come back!“

“This is the best place in Jackson for a great home style hamburger. It is consistently good. The burgers are big and cooked just right. The price was better than expected. It is my go to for burgers. They also have a variety of local menu favorites like turkey necks, fries fish, chicken, and Kool-aid. You can also enjoy a game of pool while u wait. I recommend ordering ahead. They give u a call when ur order is ready, to avoid having to get there and wait. The only issues are parking and location. The parking is very limited and kind of difficult to get to. No designating parking spots. It's also not well lit.“

FYI - All drinks including water are $2 ea (free refills)& sauces are extra- ranch, honey mustard, etc. but they are a decent size. We both got Combo #12- burger, wings & fries for $12.99 ea. Food was fresh & hot served in to go clamshell but we stayed and ate at the restaurant. There were TVs with sports playing. We would try it again.“

“Stopped in at Ole Tavern on George Street after a long day on the road and it hit the spot real nice. Food come out hot, portions good sized, and everything had decent flavor, not just salt and grease. Folks workin there were friendly, kept my drink topped off, and the place had that relaxed feel where you can sit a bit and unwind. For the money I paid I walked out full and satisfied, I would sure stop back in again.“

“My boyfriend ordered a large salad with grilled chicken it was delicious and also very large. I ordered a shrimp po-boy, it had lots of delicious shrimp on it with all the trimmings. My disappointment was with the bread itself. I would have given the food 5 stars if they would use French bread the kind like New Orleans French bread. Then all of my orders would have been 5 stars. They also have a live band, only wish they would have started earlier and have had more cooling or fans on the outside where the band was. It just got too hot so we had to leave. We would have spent more money there if it weren't for that. We still recommend Shuckers a great place.

“Amazing place to hang out with friends or meet new ones. The drinks are always cold and refreshing. The food is way better than your average basic bar food. Highly recommend the homemade mozzarella sticks! They also serve sodas and non-alcoholic beer if you dont drink. Fun themed nights throughout the week with live music on the weekends. Plenty of TVs and nfl package to watch all of your games on Sundays!“
