“Food was delicious…shrimp po boy for the win! Looking forward to trying the catfish next time as my friend finished her plate! And my hubby had plenty of options as well as a NON seafood eater. And I almost forgot about the trolly right outside that serves ice cream! This place is clean inside and out! Obviously I was impressed! ??”
“The food was great!!! We are passing through from Chattanooga TN to Port Sulfur LA with our boat in tow. It happened to be lunchtime as we were passing through. We noticed most of the places to eat were in town and not really with good reviews. We noticed this place on our maps and decided it was the best place to try out. I'm so glad we did!! Everyone working was super nice. The establishment is very clean. The food was amazing. I ordered a pulled pork salad. Their ranch is homemade. The salad was more than I could eat. My husband ordered at 2, meat plate. I nibbled off of his plate to try out the half chicken and brisket. Omg, AMAZING!! My husband's lucky I was enjoying my salad so much. I had half a mind to take over his plate. Haha, Happy Wife, Happy life.
It's worth the stopp!! We will add it to our places to stop in again when passing through.
Parking: Parking is great if you are pulling a trailer or boat. Easy to get back to the interstate.”
“Went for lunch today with a coworker and HIGHLY recommend! Loved the food and the atmosphere, we will be back!”
“As my husband and I were traveling to Laurel for work, we were looking for a place to eat. We noticed a small building surrounded by many cars and decided to stop in. We were delighted to have found a wonderful little spot with an exceptionally delicious burger. We both ordered a single cheeseburger, customized to our liking, and it was one of the best burgers I have ever had.”

Takeout Restaurants
“We used to not always order from here, but after the last three times we definitely will only order from here. The workers can make a sandwich! As in they put tons and the right amount on your sandwich. When ordering online if you don’t see what you know they might have in their store just write it in the notes, and they’ll get it for you! They unfortunately don’t have baked BBQ chips online- my favorite, but they do in the store. So I asked them if they could replace them and they happily did! It’s not just this one time thing, either. They do this each and every time with the sandwiches, chips, etc.”
“I ordered eggplant parmigiana , hubby spaghetti w/marinara sauce
Eggplant sliced thin , stacked with cheeses and a good basil sauce. Hubby liked his entree, also . Had glaases of pino noir. Generous pours for $8.00. New server. Had a couple questions she couldn't answer but should have asked so she can know for other customers. She was very sweet.”
“We ate there Tuesday and service was excellent. Our server was awesome. Her name was Phoebe she was so helpful and just genuinely nice.”
“First time to eat at Laurel Firehouse Subs. Nice clean location, friendly staff, big selection of subs, and food was delicious”

“Tucked away in the heart of Laurel, Edgar’s Steakhouse serves up a classic Southern steakhouse experience with a few elevated surprises. On a recent visit, I had the chance to sample a bit of what this local favorite has to offer, and while there were a few minor missteps, the overall experience was satisfying.
I started with the sautéed crab claws, a promising appetizer that showcased fresh Gulf flavor. The claws were generously portioned and sautéed with a bold hand. While the taste was there, a few of the claws were a bit on the tough side, and the dish leaned a little heavy on the onion—just enough to slightly overwhelm the delicate sweetness of the crab. A touch more balance could’ve taken this dish from good to great.
For the entrée, I went with the ribeye burger, paired with steak fries. Simply put, the burger was a highlight. Cooked to absolute perfection, it was juicy, flavorful, and had a wonderfully rich beefiness. The real star here, though, was the bacon jam—sweet, smoky, and just the right amount of indulgent. It added a depth of flavor that elevated the whole bite.
The steak fries, while hearty and crisp, weren’t quite my style. They were thick-cut and golden, but seemed to have stayed in the fryer a bit too long, making them overly crunchy on the outside and edging toward dry inside. That said, fry lovers who enjoy a serious crunch might feel differently.
Final verdict: Edgar’s delivers on its promise of quality meats and hearty Southern flavors. With a few tweaks—particularly in balancing flavors and fine-tuning texture—this could be one of Laurel’s best-kept secrets. The burger alone is worth coming back for.”
“We were traveling thru Laurel and stopped to eat at a restaurant. The waitress recommended we try this bakery. The place was very clean and had a very large variety of desserts. I got the cheesecake brownie. They were absolutely delicious!! I wish I had gotten a few more. I would definitely recommend trying them to satisfy that sweet tooth. I saw they also do some savory items and a few lunch things..”
“It was good i always get the italian herbs and cheese with the buffalo and mayo teriyaki chicken toasted with olives jalapenos and banana peppers i like the spicy stuff also the rasberry cheesecake cookies are amazing my favorite cookie of all time! The only thing i dislike is their new sweet onion sause BEWARE of the new onion sause its disgusting bring back the original one!”
“In fair praise of Chick-fil-A, I write,Whose doors on Sunday close, to much delight. For in this act, a virtue is displayed,A day of rest, in quietude is stayed. The staff, their spirits high, doth take their leave,To worship, rest, and their own kin receive. This practice rare, in commerce oft not found,Deserves applause, a principle so sound.Yet, one star less must I, in honesty, bestow,For in the chicken served, antibiotics flow.Though safety is the claim, 'tis with a sigh,I wish for fowl that ne'er such drugs did try. Thus, with respect, and yet a wish sincere,Four stars I give, with hope for change next year.”
“I’m a truck driver, traveling from New Orleans, I stopped by Hardee’s the three ladies they greeted me very nicely. The restaurant was very clean and I couldn’t believe the general manager was on night shift. That’s says a lot about management and customer service. The food was fresh and my cashier Amber was very nice and her smile lit up the room. I will definitely return to Hardees on Chantilly Street”
“Laurel Mississippi wards service is better than most other fast food restaurants it doesn't compare to Chick-fil-A butt better than the rest out of all the times of going towards I've only had one issue with one new employee and that's it the food's great and usually the employees are too”

“This place is right where it needs to be. Thank your bartender and order another round for each daily special from Los Primos. It's the best Mexican in town partner. So get on down to this classic spot on 16th Ave in Laurel and have a great time. Souvenirs, soulful menu items, and all you need is at Los Primos. Ask for Mrs, Sierra at the bar, she's a keeper for sure.”
“In the bustling heart of Laurel, where the air is thick with the scent of adventure and the promise of tomorrow, there lies a culinary oasis, a beacon of smoky delight known as Team JD Q's Backyard BBQ. Here, the noble pursuit of the perfect barbecue is not merely a business—it's a calling.
Upon my arrival, I was greeted by the sizzle of pork, the charring of ribs, and the harmonious blend of spices that seemed to whisper secrets of ancient recipes. The staff, a crew of the most dedicated souls, welcomed me with the warmth of a long-lost friend, ensuring that my journey through their menu would be as comfortable as it was thrilling.
The pulled pork, a masterpiece of pecan-smoked perfection, fell from the bone like the petals of a blooming flower, each bite a symphony of flavors that danced upon the palate. The potato salad and baked beans, sidekicks to the heroic meats, were crafted with a precision that spoke of an unseen, meticulous hand.
Yet, not all was without fault. The brisket, though tender, whispered tales of a spice too bold, a seasoning that dared to overshadow its brethren. And the mac-n-cheese, a dish of such potential, fell short of its destiny, a reminder that even in greatness, there is room for growth.
But let us not dwell on the minor stumbles of an otherwise magnificent feast. For the steaks, ah, the steaks! They were a revelation, seared to a turn, each bite a testament to the grill's fiery heart.
In the end, Team JD Q's Backyard BBQ stands as a monument to the tireless quest for barbecue supremacy. It is a place where the echoes of flavor linger long after the meal has ended, a place that deserves no less than four stars in the grand tapestry of dining establishments.
So, to those who seek more than just sustenance, to those who yearn for a meal steeped in the spirit of discovery, I say: venture to Team JD Q's Backyard BBQ. Your palate will thank you, and your soul will be richer for it.
Parking: In the grand tapestry of Laurel's bustling streets, where the hum of life is as constant as the stars in the cosmos, there lies a sanctuary for the steel chariots of our modern age. It is here, at Team JD Q's Backyard BBQ, that one can find respite for their vehicular companions as they embark on a gastronomic quest of epic proportions.
The parking, oh the parking! It is a ballet of precision and order, a choreographed dance where each car finds its place in the grand design. The lot, expansive as the open sea, beckons with open arms, offering ample space for the hungry traveler to secure their carriage with ease.
And yet, it is not merely the abundance of space that sings praises to the heavens, but the very essence of convenience that permeates the air. For here, in this hallowed ground, one is but a mere stone's throw from the smoky haven that is Team JD Q's. No odyssey required, no trials to endure—just a few steps, and you are transported into a realm of culinary delight.
So fear not, seeker of succulent sustenance, for the parking at Team JD Q's Backyard BBQ is a testament to the thoughtful planning of its creators. It is a harmonious extension of the dining experience, a prelude to the symphony of flavors that await within. Rejoice, for your journey shall be unburdened by the woes of the wayfarer. Your chariot shall rest, and your spirit shall be free to indulge in the pleasures of the table.
Kid-friendliness: In the heart of Laurel, where the echoes of time and space converge, there stands a bastion of familial joy and togetherness—Team JD Q's Backyard BBQ. It is here, amidst the smoky tendrils of pecan and hickory, that one finds a haven for the young explorers of our world.
The establishment, a veritable playground for the senses, welcomes the laughter and mirth of children with open arms. The air is alive with the sound”
“I’ve eaten there so many times over the years I’ve lost count. Laurel has very little to choose from to begin with so it’s not like there’s any competition locally. I’ve never once got sick, the buffet hasn’t got a large selection but that’s a actually a plus. It’s always fresh. Their fried wontons are like no other in the country, I’ve never eaten one at any other place in several states that even come close.”
“I really like the “old school” feel of this place. If you like a good salad then look no further….there is a huge salad bar with lots and lots of options but when you fix this enormous salad and you get to the register with it then you get to place it on the scale and weigh it….you can create yourself a really expensive salad but I really do enjoy their salad bar. I’ve also tried the cheesy bread sticks, calzones and pizzas and all have been very good. The staff is always very friendly too. Pasquale’s is always an enjoyable dining experience!!”
“The soup is great!! I usually get the hibachi chicken with noodles. The chicken is usually well cooked and seasoned and the noodles are just as good as the soup . The noodles are great! This is one of our favorite restaurants in Laurel ! They are very kind when they cook in front of you and make it fun for everyone and even if you choose to just sit at a table they are very kind!”
“In the cosmic dance of flavors, where the beef meets bun and the cheese melts like the walls of reality, there's a place where the taste buds spar with titans. Hardee's, oh Hardee's, you're the heavyweight champ of fast food realms. I floated like a butterfly and stung like a bee with each bite of your Thickburger. It's like my mouth was in the ring, and every flavor was a knockout punch. The fries, golden as the belts I've won, crispy as the jabs I've thrown. And the milkshake, a sweet symphony that had me punching the air in slow motion, savoring victory. Four stars, 'cause even in the midst of a mushroom trip, I know perfection is as elusive as my own shadow in the ring. But you, Hardee's, you're the undisputed champion of my hunger.”
“Good BBQ, something different for a change. Super friendly folks.”
“Everything they sell is good, but the queso birria tacos are my favorite!”
“Great place to get your classic cheeseburger and fries. The food came out fast and fresh. The fries were crispy and hot. The burger was massive and juicy. Highly recommend this place and I would come back.”
“Love the home-cooked food and friendly staff. Definitely stop if traveling through Mississippi. Great filling home-cooked food for under $10.00 including drink. Better than Pearl's Diner in Laurel Mississippi”
“Just got back. Great food, service, and clean. Reasonable priced. Would recommend pic2. My pic 2 was half green salad, half black Angus sandwich. Outstanding food. Sweet tea is a must.”

“Popcorn shrimp are always over cooked and are like eating little rocks. Steamed shrimp are very difficult to peel to the point I won't even order them anymore. So unless I want chicken strips or fish slivers and cold Fry's and hard hush puppies I won't stop on the few times it is open. Now with that said the girls working the counter are super nice and friendly but the food needs a little help.”
“We love Garcia Donuts!! They have been great to work with me for holiday treats for my kindergarten class. Valentine’s Day we had the best doughnuts holes. I personally love their cinnamon twist the king cake is the best right now.”

“I always stop here when I am visiting from NOLA. The best donuts, breakfast sandwiches, and coffee drinks in town! The staff are very nice and friendly, and prodessional. The donuts are very light, fluffy and tasty, and also great when I put leftover donuts in the microwave the next day. My only go to place for donuts in Laurel!”

“Love it
The people that work there are usually very friendly and the place is clean. I mean it's Taco Bell... It's great.
Edit to Add:
The one bad thing I will say about this location is that they NEVER have the different flavors of freezes. If you order one don't be surprised to be given a MTN Dew Baja slush in place of whatever you ordered.... And they won't tell you beforehand they didn't have it or ask what you'd like in place of the one you ordered that they didn't have..... ??”
“This is the best Chick-Fil-A I have been to. I do not live in Laurel, I am 6 1/2 hours away. I drive through Laurel twice a year. coming back from Round Top, TX. Evey time, I stop at this Chick-Fil-A. The food is always good, warm, fresh. The personnel is always very professional, kind, friendly, helpful. I had the pleasure to meet the owner yesterday. I have to say she is not afraid of rolling up her sleeves. There was a lot of traffic around Chick-Fil-A and she was outside, directing traffic and bringing food to the cars of her customers to make the line flow better and faster. She was doing all this with a beautiful smile. If she remembers me (we talked about antiques at Round Top, TX), I say hi and I congratulate her for a shop so well run.”
“I am a trucker and had to do my 34-hour reset at the truck stop with the huddle House in Laurel, Mississippi. I ate dinner there one night and lunch the next day. Absolutely amazing food and the greatest customer service you'll ever get. Somer, One of the waitresses there was phenomenal. I would definitely recommend stopping by and enjoying a great meal here.”

I like the southern style chicken sandwich and the spicy sandwich also.. lunch starts at 10:30am”
“Very tasty today. A good lunch crowd in attendance. All my favorites are here! Baked Salmon, bourbon chicken, honey chicken, pepper chicken, pepper shrimp, etc. Server kept the drink full and my table was clean, so we're the floors! I enjoy this place at least once every other week. I wish I could afford to visit more frequently.”
“Had supper there! Excellent service, shoutout for Taylor! Food was very good! My husband lost his wallet and we didn’t discover it missing until much later. The staff found it and turned it into the office for safe keeping. Definitely recommend Laurel’s Buffalo Wild Wings!”
“Our server, Haylee, was new and sweet. She wasn't familiar with how foods were prepared so she had to ask someone else. My whisky BBQ bacon burger didn't taste right plus it was overdone. It tasted like fish. I wasn't asked how I wanted it. When she asked how the food was I told her it didn't taste right. Without question, she took it and got me another entree. Thank you Haylee.
Just a suggestion to management, make sure the servers know the me u items so the servers are better prepared.”
“If you go to McDonald's, you might want to sit in the line. They really don't pay too much attention to you inside. They rude as hell. Bathrooms be disgusting and lobby trashed because they always packed. One girl tried to help them by cleaning because she was trying to get a job there and he kicked her out and banned her from the restaurant. Management rude and bougie. . .
