Visited for the first time, the workers were extremely welcoming and nice. I love that it is all original mostly. It feels you went back in time when you walk in. The candy is amazing.
Stepping into Parrot Confectionery Store is like stepping back in time. This old fashioned soda shop fits perfectly with the vibe of the downtown area where it's found and if these walls could talk they'd certainly have a story to tell.The candies are ok-not amazing, but decent. I had a sea salt caramel, which was fine. I'd probably get it again, but wouldn't stock up on a dozen of them like I've been known to do at other candy stores.There are knick-knacks everywhere! Beautiful delicious candy and so many choices. Back in the 1970's, my friend Suzanne and I used to go to every yard sale in Helena on Saturday mornings, and we always went to the Parrot for chili or a tamale with a cherry lime soda as soon as the store opened. Of course we then took our little bags of candy with us as we searched for antiques and other treasures.Parking: Well, it's a walking mall so we parked wherever we found a spot. Sometimes this was a block away!
