The Original Montana Club Reviews
The club is back open! The food and bar are fantastic! Stop by and meet our new Chef Heather, her food is fantastic!!!
Over the past year, it’s been amazing to see how ownership and the team have transformed the MT Club back to its original glory as a staple of social gatherings, events, and culture. I’ve had the opportunity to dine at the new 1885 restaurant on several occasions, and each time the food was excellent and prepared exactly to my liking.

The Garden Room is a beautifully decorated and comfortable room tucked into the Montana Club building, offering a delightful selection of teas and treats. It was the perfect place to celebrate my friend's birthday and catch up with each other.

Based on the reviews, The Original Montana Club offers an upscale yet cozy dining experience with classic Montana comfort food and big portions. The historic atmosphere is beautiful, featuring high ceilings, elegant wood beams, chandeliers, and big windows with a stunning view overlooking downtown Helena and the surrounding mountains. The menu includes items like the steak sandwich, which is hearty and juicy, and the roasted chicken with creamy potatoes au gratin and glazed carrots, which is full of comfort-food goodness. The mushroom puff pastry appetizer is perfectly flaky and rich. For an even more upscale experience, the new 1885 Steakhouse on the 6th floor serves good steaks and amazing lamb. Service is top notch, with friendly staff and a member host and bartender who goes the extra mile to make guests feel welcome. The acoustics can be a bit echoey and loud when crowded, and the bar is very small with limited drink offerings. The restaurant charges for extras like smoke for a drink. Overall, it is a true Montana gem with history, charm, and amazing food, recommended for a romantic dinner or special occasion.
