“After taking out a personal loan, I was going to get dinner at the Maritime Market for me and my 2 teens. I saw the sign for Side Wok, checked out their menu, and ordered my kids "go to" General Tao's chicken with brown rice, and myself a side of mixed veggies. The sauce and chicken were tangy and crispy, the brown rice was perfectly cooked. I loved that they made it original, I found the char on the veggies absolutely. I understand people have different tastes, but I am truly baffled by the poor stars on the food. Thank you Side Wok for a delicious meal I didn't have to cook.“

“This is the best restaurant in Southport. The chef is amazing with outstanding dishes such as maple pecan salmon over risotto and the bourbon bread pudding with home made salted caramel ice cream. The service is always great and Kimberly was no exception on our recent visit. In addition, Barbara at the front desk was so helpful and a charm to talk with about all kind of things including her devotion to adopt and care for senior doggies. This is always one of our highlights on our long journey at sea from Maryland to South Florida.“

“Went in on a crowded Friday and every customer had a smile on their face. The employees were all running back and forth and having fun. I felt genuinely cared about and they took an interest in me while checking out my order. My food was absolutely incredible. Definitely coming here next time I visit oak island. Wonderful place. “Went here with my family party of 14 for Thanksgiving Buffet and had a great experience. As someone with the a dairy and gluten allergy they accommodated my needs and my daughters! They also have a GF menu. The waiter was super nice she checked the items to make sure I could eat them and even brought me GF and Dairy Free waffles that was not part of the thanksgiving buffet menu. The chef came to check on us a couple of times which was really nice! Great service and food! Thank you!!!“

“We have had dinner there twice in the last two weeks. It was delicious! No problems. Great service. And the special last night was prime rib....for $22.00! What a bargain. We love to eat there. Seafood platters are a bargain too!“

“It's been a rough few weeks for small business owners in Southport since the storm and local road issues haven't helped. The other day instead of waiting in traffic I stopped in to check on a friend & fellow restaurant owner at Southport Gourmet and Sushi Bar. Like me at The Saucy Southerner their daily business has been greatly affected and I had an idea I offered the owners. I decided to put together a night with friends and let the restaurant show off a little! Let me tell you!! They showed off big time and made us the most amazing meal!! Our group ate until we couldn't eat any more, and then we ate more!! Everything was fresh, great service and the food was delicious!!! From the sensational appetizers to kick things off, to the second course of some delightful fresh sushi boats and then finished it off with some of their favorite items!! All around we all had a wonderful time and we're grateful to be able to support a local small business during these challenging times. The best part was we beat all the traffic issues, had quality time with friends and made the night a little better for everyone involved! Get out there and support local small businesses and slow down a little. Live life and have fun!!“

“Was there 2 times already as needed to be in SP Had the Shrimp rice bowl , delicious and the 2 nd time Chicken and Shrimp bowl with greens! Very enjoyable atmosphere and wait staff very friendly and accommodating! Will return Their Thai chili mango dressing delicious! Sandwiches looked terrific and people seemed to be happy! Love the vibe and openness!“

“Have not been in a bit but went today for our weekly Sunday funday with a group of 7. They were very accommodating & happy to seat us. Our waitress was Tori & she was fabulous. Very nice & very, very efficient!! The wings were perfect & only $1 each on Sundays. Definitely a new fav!!!! The avacado salad with grilled chicken was delicious! We all want to try it!! And we can’t forget the sweet potato tater tots!!! Addicting!!! We lol had a great time & plan to keep them in our Sunday rotation! Great job 49’th Street!!!!!“
