La Monarca Bar & Grill is a quaint, cozy, and family-friendly restaurant with a fun atmosphere. The service is absolutely incredible, and the staff seem very kind hearted. The food and beer are delicious, using fresh-tasting, good-quality ingredients. The chips are some of the best, served with complimentary delicious salsa and thick, flavorful queso. The guacamole is made with REAL, FRESH ingredients and comes in an entire mini clamshell. The chicken quesadilla is not soaked in grease, offering an exquisite, authentic Mexican flavor. The medium burrito is huge, and a chicken burrito provides two meals. The ACP is one of the best, with plenty of extra queso. The steak and shrimp tacos have perfectly cooked meat with cilantro and onions on top. The food is reasonably priced and very tasty. This is a new Boone staple and a favorite Mexican restaurant in ALL of Watauga County.
