The hotel is centrally located in downtown Boone, providing easy access to around 30 nearby dining options within a five-minute walk. Visitors enjoy the spectacular, comfortable, and well-appointed rooms, which are dark and quiet, with some describing them as unique, fun, and comfortable. The lobby’s fireplace adds to the cozy ambiance on the way to the lounge. The rooftop bar is a cool and unique spot in Boone, where drinks are always well-made, making for a good time. However, limited shade in the afternoon and early evening can make it very hot during the summer. The staff at the Horton is highly praised, with many noting their helpfulness and charisma—from the maintenance man Elijah, who quickly addressed room needs, to the Front Desk Manager RaeAnn, who makes check-in easy, and the bar staff, including Kendall, who helps make the stay special.
