Tru Soul Food Kitchen is a restaurant that offers soul food. The fish is a must-try and some of the best fish ever had, with amazing flavor and quality. The fish is the star of the show, and the person frying it has serious talent. The service is excellent, and the staff is absolutely excellent. The baked chicken and cabbage are very good. The chicken dark meat plate features meat that falls off the bone, served on a bed of Rice. The macaroni and cheese is out of this world, and the candied yams are amazing. The cornbread and homemade Lemonade are delicious. The food is piping hot with excellent taste and quality, and the portions are large. However, the gravy and mac and cheese can be extremely salty, and the sides have some room for improvement. The cost is extremely high, with $16.00+ for 4 vegetables. The roll can be rock hard. The restaurant is super clean. Some suggest background music for the atmosphere. For those who like food that has flavor and taste, this is a spot to recommend for good, authentic home-cooked soul food.
