Based on the reviews, Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams is the best ice cream place in NC. It is located in a great spot in Chapel Hill. They have a nice selection of flavors, including unique options like goat cheese and sweet biscuits with peach jam, gooey butter cake, almond butter, Blackout Chocolate Cake, and Brown Butter Almond Brittle. There are a few dairy free options. They do let you try samples. If you get two scoops in a cup, they separate them with a small waffle piece, which is a nice touch. They also offer waffle cones, but the cone was salty. Cute bonus they offer half a scoop of vanilla ice cream for pups. The ice cream is good enough to leave a smile on a face. The staff is incredibly engaged, helpful and enthusiastic. It is a little pricey. Overall tasty ice cream and worth a visit.
