“Great atmosphere, but the food seemed pretty average. I liked my brunch cocktail, but I think our waitress forgot about us for nearly 20 minutes. A couple next to us were seated and served food before we even had a chance to order (drinks or food). It wasn't bad, but I feel like there are so many other options around town that are better.Also, once our waitress did remember us (after my friend tracked her down), she was much more attentive.“
“First time visiting. Nice atmosphere and the server our team had was very nice, JaNathan. We had a fairly big group and then a couple of other large groups came in and this gentleman seemed to be the only person working. He was awesome; very courteous and appeared that he was able to remember little request from each group and get everyone what they needed. He needs a bonus and a raise. Thank you JaNathan.Food was ok, my burger was not completely done which I did not realize until I went to bite the second half. Other than that food was pretty good.“
“This place offers such a nice atmosphere.The bar is well stocked with the classics and even some adventurous choices too.I was having a challenging day due to a number of cancelations and delays at the airport.Zach made sure to keep the service engaging.I also noted he treated every person as a guest in town, regulars and visitors alike.I will for sure come back.“
“What a lucky find!! This pub is a great place to grab a meal, have a meeting, and enjoy the environment. The seating is spacious and the staff are very attentive. I had a plentiful meal for lunch and with all the selections, I’m sure I’ll be back to try other selections. There is indoor and outdoor seating and they are right in the heart of downtown Matthews so you can definitely make an afternoon of all that is close by. They have monthly specials so be sure to put this on your list!“
“I was recommended to coming here on Friday by some locals after stopping in a couple places and not really liking the vibe. I had been to a show at the amphitheater and did not give 2 shits what I looked like. I was walking around surrounded by people dressed to the nines. The 2 other places I went to the staff were great, but the patrons looked at me like I just did not belong. I asked where a sweaty gal with no makeup wearing cutoffs and a tank top could go and feel comfortable. “Go around the corner to Connollys. Everyone feels welcome there.” I did. I had a great time. The bartender was amazing. He knew I was by myself and made a point to strike up conversation to make me feel comfortable. Even when it was busy and I still had drink in my glass, he made sure to ask if I was ok. As a former bartender, I give this place all the thumbs up. Definitely go there if you are an out of town we and just want a comfortable place to hang. I also would like to thank that sweet bartender for making me feel like at I was at my hometown watering hole. He really is the the best in the business. <3“
