The reason why this review get 5 stars is because of the hotel manager named Kenneth. After arriving at the hotel I expressed to Kenneth the day I've had ( car accident on the country side of Durham and I'm from Hampton Roads..no where close to home). He was very understanding and put me in a nice quite room. Yes , it's an older hotel but my room was super clean. Not planning on coming back to the city anytime soon but was thankful for Kenneth. Comfortable stay while attending a conference. Room was typical average. The front desk staff was helpful. I forgot to pack my cell phone charger and the gentlemen at the front desk let my borrow a charger. Comfortable bed and overall a great stay.

I recently stayed here and I must say I was somewhat disappointed with my experience. Doors closed extremely hard, resulting in lots of noise in the rooms. On multiple mornings, we witnessed the staff abruptly cutting off service to a line of guests at the breakfast/coffee bar, which was frustrating and left people without breakfast. Additionally, despite the hot weather in early June, the pool remained closed, which was a letdown as we had hoped to enjoy some relaxation and refreshment....read full review
