“If you are planning a special occasion or just want a night out at a wonderful restaurant, I have a bit of advice for you. Go to Chef Palette! This establishment has got it together. The atmosphere is just lovely. We planned our son and future daughter-in-law's rehearsal dinner from afar, way far.....Michigan. As stressful as that could have been, Kathie did everything to ease our stress. She calmed this Momma's heart and executed everything to a "T". The appetizer table was not only displayed beautifully, it was YUMMY! The salad, main entrees and dessert did not disappoint. But most of all, the staff was most kind and extremely professional. We cannot thank Kathie and the staff at Chef Palette enough for the wonderful and memorable evening we shared together. GO TO CHEF's PALETTE!“

The ice-cream is fresh and delicious. The cows outside are so cute. I went on a sunny afternoon and I was mooing to the cows and one walked up to the fence. Adorable!“

“We have been wanting to visit The Blind Pelican for a while, and finally took the plunge for my husband’s birthday. This trip will absolutely not be our last. The place was packed on a Tuesday night (it’s not a huge space, especially in the winter when outside seating isn’t available, so plan accordingly). Our wait time was exactly what the hostess promised, and service was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. All staff were phenomenal and checked on us while we were waiting as well as once we were seated. The staff aren’t overly attentive, which we love (they checked on us enough to be helpful but otherwise just let us enjoy our meal). We obviously HAD to try the crazy fun bloody mary’s. They were delicious - exceptional bloody mary’s, and all of the food on top was perfectly cooked and a joy to eat. I had the Taco Tuesday special - lobster tacos with a mango salsa that made me do a happy dance, and my husband had the steak and scallops. Everything was so good and worth the price, in my opinion. Quality seafood can be pricey in central NC, but worth it! The bloody mary’s are obviously a novelty item - but the quality was so outstanding that I would actually order one again (which is saying a lot as I figured it would be a one and done). I can’t wait to go back and try all of the other items on their menu - including some fun drinks & apps we didn’t have room to try this time. If you’re on the fence, just go! You will be glad you did!“

“I stopped by this place on a random drive day, and I’m glad I did so. Amazing Mexican food, and fresh juices. Their tacos and burritos are way above your $$$ restaurant experience. The lady running this place is polite and courteous. Beautiful location too.“

“My only go to coffee place. I love all the different combinations you can make. Though my favorite is the Peanut Butter Huckleberry Latte. ❤️ It is pure perfection. Nonnie is my favorite go to Barista, and she makes my drinks perfectly every single time. She is so welcoming, friendly and puts a smile on my face every time I see her. She remembers my husband's order when we come in, and then puts up with my build your own drinks when I want to switch things up. 🤣 I love coming here, makes you feel like your in a small town with how friendly/welcoming they are. LOVE this place!“

“Pretty nice place when we visited. Our server was super nice & gave us our space to enjoy our meal in peace instead of being pushy & crowding us the entire time like they do at other restaraunts.
The food was great & honestly better than we were expecting it to be. The cheese bread alone had us planning our next visit.
As a great bonus, the sweet tea actually tasted clean & like tea! instead of like straight dirt, which says a lot to the folks who get tea with their food.“

“This is one of the coziest scenes I have experienced here in North Carolina. I've lived here for aomost 5 years! The people and the vibe are extremely relaxed. Such a chill place with great beer( I am not a beer drinker bit I really like theirs!!!) They bring in great vendors for a variety of food on Thursdays and the service from the bartender, Gabz is super fun behind the bar. PS... bring your dog and kids! Totally family friendly! Great crowd!!“

“We had a wonderful morning at Java Jive. We got breakfast pastries, coffee, and iced tea and spent a few hours working. It did get a bit noisy with a few groups meeting and talking, but that is not abnormal for coffee shops. It is relatively small, with small tables for 2 people and a single round table that seats up to 4. The coffee and pastry was good, and they have art for sale on the walls.“

“We had a rather large group and came on a busy day. We had come to celebrate my retirement. We were unable to make a reservation and the recommendation was for us to just show up and they would do their best to accommodate us. I know that it sounds like the start of a bad review- but things got better once we got there. We were seated within 10 minutes and they even staged us away from the door while we waited. Our waitress was Mariah, and she was dedicated to us all night. My friends and family all commented how well she treated us. The food and drinks were great! When we were breaking up- some of us wanted to visit outside and they fired up the fire circle for us. Thank you for everything. It was a great evening!“

“I decided to try some hibachi here tonight, and it was wonderful! The staff was very friendly, and they greeted me with a smile. I had the hibachi salmon. I added a side of fried rice and a side of jumbo shrimp. I placed a to-go order at the counter.

You can watch the chef preparing food by looking through a window near the register. The ingredients look fresh and delicious. It may have taken around 10 minutes to receive the order, although I didn't pay attention to the clock.

I was very pleased with the speed, quality, and service. I'd highly recommend this place to others.“
