“Hidden Gem in the heart of the unexpected. Akami is not where you'd expect to find it. Nestled amidst a convenience store, this unassuming restaurant serves up some of the most extraordinary sushi I've ever tasted! The sushi itself is a masterpiece. The fish is incredibly fresh, the rice is perfectly cooked, and the flavors are simply divine. If you're looking for a truly unique dining experience, I highly recommend checking this place out!“

“The food was very good! We've been to a number of hibachi and sushi places in the area and this one was my favorite for takeout. The sushi alongside the hibachi was also very delicious and flavorful. Service was possibly understaffed so things took a bit longer than estimated but I did not mind because everything else was perfect and the staff was kind.“

“I had not been in years. I went in August 2026 on a Sunday. I was initially reluctant given the variety of reviews and the amount of reviews.
On the one hand the reviews are accurate. However the bad reviews were more harsh than they needed to be.
Have i had worse sushi...yes for sure. Have I had better sushi absolutely.
Given the whole experience I would give it 4 stars of 5. Atmosphere is casual but nice. Service is above average. Food is 4/5. It was a bit bland but I got the 3 roll lunch special. The rice was not flavored very well and the tightness of the rolls was average. However if the rice has had more flavor it would have been better. But in fairness I got shrimp avocado, amd salmon avocado. Which are more bland to begin with.
I also got the vegetable tempura. The sauce was a spicy mayo instead of sweet broth. It was not traditional tempura, more deep fried vegetables....but not horrible.
The price was SUPER affordable.
The service was attentive.
So.....in the end....set expectations.
There are better sushi places However for the price and location, it was above average.“
