The ones that leave a bad review, I wonder how clean your house is or how good your food is? I bet not as good as this place.“

“Greatest Of All Time chinese joint. I’m down to fight if you wanna disagree. 1) All the meat I’ve tried here is lean and flavorful, consistently high quality. That’s hard to find. 2) Stellar value on their meals. Hibachi lunch combo is like $12 after taxes AND you get a side of the best egg drop soup on the Eastern Seaboard. Also, they’ve had a BOGO free Makimono sushi roll deal for several years now, and it’s always been tasty. 3) Service is immaculate. The nice lady usually working the counter knew my name by my third time coming in, she’ll hand me my order without me having to say word. If someone says the service was bad here, I can guarentee they were being bad customers. 4) SELF SERVE SAUCES, UTENSILS, AND FORTUNE COOKIES. Hibachi 88 is the ONLY asian food place I’ve ever visited that offers this. I like a lot of soy and duck sauce, and I love fortune cookies. It’s the little things like that, that keep me as a return customer.“

“Sono was the best sushi I’ve had in a long time! Out of alllll the rolls at our table the Screaming O was amazing. The Poke roll was a close second. Great food, great service — including our server boxing up leftovers and including a fresh salad as an extra customer care touch!

“We had a wonderful experience. We mentioned to our server, Vanessa, that we were celebrating our fourth wedding anniversary, and she truly went above and beyond to make it special. Her service was excellent, thoughtful, and genuinely over the top in the best way. The food was great, but the service was even better. Vanessa took such great care of us and made our night even more memorable“

“City Market Sushi is one of my favorite places to eat in Raleigh. From the apps to the rolls, everything is delicious - the garlic edamame is a must-try, the Kobe sliders are outstanding, and the Yuzu Tuna is amazing. I also love their rolls. The Ultimate Rainbow is made with noticeably fresh, high-quality fish.
There isn't much on the menu that isn't exceptional! It's a great combination of quality ingredients and flavor. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant. Highly recommend!“

“Gavi H. made our first time to Umiya the best! He has a wonderfully easy disposition and great charisma! Umiya should be thankful to have someone like him representing their business. “The service was excellent. Our server was very patient. We went to celebrate our daughter’s 10th birthday and she and the kids took a minute to choose their boba teas. He did not rush us and was very kind. Our orders came out quickly and everything was correct. The ramen and gyozu were delicious.“

“Good drink specials throughout the week, I appreciate the infusion that these dishes provide between Mexican and Asian. I always get the sushi with a little less sauce, which always is perfect for me. It’s great to have a sit down restaurant. That’s also one you can order from the bar and take to go inside the food hall.“

“My waitress was great as well as the actual restaurant itself. I feel as though the quality of the sushi could be better. I had the Ho Mackerel and the Fantasy Eel. While I did really enjoy the eel itself, the salmon felt low quality. For the Ho Mackerel roll. I do not recommend it. The salmon skin was severely overcooked and I had difficulty chewing it. It also tasted more burnt than smoked as well. The Malaysia spring roll were alright but had bits of minced beef in it that were inedible.“

“Absolutely amazing experience! The sushi was delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented, but what really made my visit special was the service.
I want to give a special shout-out to Omar, our server. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever felt this well taken care of at a restaurant before. He was incredibly attentive, friendly, professional, and genuinely made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. His attention to detail and the way he treated us made the entire experience exceptional.
Omar is a true asset to this restaurant. I’ll definitely be coming back, and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great sushi and outstanding service!“

“I had not been in years. I went in August 2026 on a Sunday. I was initially reluctant given the variety of reviews and the amount of reviews.
On the one hand the reviews are accurate. However the bad reviews were more harsh than they needed to be.
Have i had worse sushi...yes for sure. Have I had better sushi absolutely.
Given the whole experience I would give it 4 stars of 5. Atmosphere is casual but nice. Service is above average. Food is 4/5. It was a bit bland but I got the 3 roll lunch special. The rice was not flavored very well and the tightness of the rolls was average. However if the rice has had more flavor it would have been better. But in fairness I got shrimp avocado, amd salmon avocado. Which are more bland to begin with.
I also got the vegetable tempura. The sauce was a spicy mayo instead of sweet broth. It was not traditional tempura, more deep fried vegetables....but not horrible.
The price was SUPER affordable.
The service was attentive.
So.....in the end....set expectations.
There are better sushi places However for the price and location, it was above average.“

“This place is our go to for hibachi takeout. The food is so good, our favorites are the teriyaki chicken, bang bang chicken and crab ration. Every time I order here it is hot, the portions are large and it is seasoned to perfection. The owners are sweethearts and even gave my daughter a sucker while we were waiting for our food to be bagged up. I have never eaten in the actual restaurant as there is limited seating. Their prices are fair for how much food you get (for me it’s always two meals) and we will continue coming here over and over again!“

“I can’t believe some of these reviews because I have gone three times and the food has been so so good. We have dined in at a table and we also have dined in at the grill. We have had many of the options. Shrimp, filet, ribeye, crab watons and more. All have been exceptional! Our chef the night we sat at the grill was fantastic as well. Our waitress at our last meal was phenomenal. I do want to say my only draw back is that we called at 8:00 asking for a reservation for 8:30 (the website said to call) and the girl who answered was sassy saying they wouldn’t sit us unless we were there by a certain time and they wouldn’t do a reservation.“
