“The small mom and pops places are absolutely the best handmade hamburger patties, homemade chili, fries are topped with a secret seasoning, no ketchup required, the atmosphere is like and old diner, clean, lots of seating either indoors or on the patio, it’s well worth the 30 minute drive from our house to Granite Quarry for the burgers, dogs, fries and the small town atmosphere“

“This is a very clean restaurant. I didn't like what I got, it had no flavor or taste. Very bland. I added salt and pepper and was able to finish it. People were nice. I ordered chicken on a stick, pork fried rice and egg fo yon gravy sauce. Absolutely no taste or flavor. I didn't care for the red on the chicken.“

“Every time my wife and I come to Salisbury we dine at Mambo Grill. The experience, food and our hostess Gisselle C. are worth more than five stars.
On 22 Nov @ 17:37 we arrived for dinner. We ordered two Chicken Hemingway and for desert the Coconut Flan. Both entrees were very delicious. But our hostess recommended what is called Mariquitas. An appetizer we have never tried. It was the talk on our table with Gisselle C as she recommended the dish.
Two thumbs up for our hostess and the same to the restaurant for taking the time with us and making sure our experience is always positive and worth of a great review. Gisselle, you are the best!“

“What a great little hidden gem! I say hidden because if you are not from China Grove, NC or close by, you've likely never heard of it. I drive in from CLT just for their food. 2 cheeseburgers, 2 hotdogs, a and local fav Cheerwine for under $20? And it's damn good! Same order at any chain restaurant would be $40 easily. It's worth the trip, and I'll keep making it.“

“The country styled steak taste like a frozen piece o eat doesn’t taste the least bit like country styled steak the gravy tasted horrible. The green bean on my husband’s plate tasted like the can that they came out off. The fried okra tasted like it had been sitting awhile and cold. The only hot thing on my plate was the fried squash. Tour food wasn’t worth what we paid for it. I did notice that a lot of people left a lot of food on there plates uneaten. Will not be going back.“

“I grew up in Salisbury and lived there well into my adulthood. I live in Columbia, SC now but when I come back to town to visit my Mom, one of my favorite places to eat is at Checkered Flag. They’re food is really good but the hard working ladies who serve the customers is what makes it great. They take the time to talk to every customer at every table and it’s not just chit chat. They really want to know how you are and what they can do for you to make your visit perfect. They treat everyone like family but for those of us who come back again and again, we become family. Even for me, an out of towner, I even know two of the hard working ladies, Angela and Jen. Angela showed her hard working team spirit yesterday when, Jen, our server, was tied up with her other tables. Angela stepped in and took our order until Jen could get back over to us. This example of teamwork becomes contagious and I’m sure that Jen has done the same thing for Angela and all of her co-workers. Jen is such a joy to be around. Her personality oozes charisma and warmth and she makes you feel truly special because that is who she is!! I heartily recommend Checkered Flag for their great food and and their even greater people!! I rate them 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and 5 hearts!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️“

The woman taking my order was beyond great in customer service skills. She was friendly, cheerful, and thorough about making sure she got my order correctly.
