“Chip's cafe was a delightful surprise! Best hamburger I've had in a long time. Fries and onion rings really good! Husband had BBQ plate with cole slaw and hushpuppies which he gave a thumbs up to. Quick service, food was hot and Iced Tea was perfectly sweetened. Highly recommend this little hide-away. And they still have a pay phone (for show only) but brought back some nostalgia.”

“We enjoy going to Masons occasionally for a date treat. It’s clean, easy to get to, plenty of ice cream choices, affordable. The only downside is that it’s a very regular occurrence that they don’t have hot fudge topping, which seems odd for a gourmet ice cream shoppe. Hopefully they can remedy this problem soon.”

“no I would not because for one they take their phone off the hook and when you do call they leave you on hold forever and ever until they hang up the phone and you have to call back and then they have an attitude cuz you want a place an order how can we as a customer be an inconvenience to them we as customers pay your paycheck so I will no longer be doing that it might be all right if you go in there and sit down and have a meal but when people are out on the road all day long come home late and want to eat some supper they should be entitled to placing an order”

“The bartenders, Victoria and Luis are THE BEST! They have a cult following of customers. The Manager, Eric and Assistant Manager Christopher, not only make sure their staff is taken care of, but also the customers. our family has been going to this location for about 16 years. there are many staff members who have worked their just as long. Highly recommend the Statesville location, not only have the staff become our friends, but also the fellow customers.”

“I'm a semi-regular here for lunch because of the fast and friendly service. Yesterday that was taken to a while new level. I left my debit card at home and was hoping to use Google or Samsung pay. Unfortunately, they only take Apple pay. Darius, the awesome guy who directs traffic during lunch, took care of my meal for me. I was/am beyond grateful. They were even giving out flowers yesterday and I got a cute little bouquet. Love this place!”

“Small, out of the way, top-notch Chinese takeout. Food was surprisingly fresh and high quality for such an out of the way restaurant. The dumplings were fresh and delicious - the best I have had at a small restaurant off the beaten path. Their fried rice was as good as any I’ve had anywhere else in the world. It took me until 3:30 when I got food. What's up with this. The place was slow. Watched several other people, the park got their food and left. Don't understand why they were slow. Was not busy at all. I had to walk into get food. Staff was all working when I went inside”

“This is a takeout fried chicken place in a truck stop. If you go with appropriate expectations given that description you won’t be disappointed, and you might be surprised.

They have a few $5 meal deals that are pretty tasty. I’ve tried the fried chicken livers or gizzards. Both yummy if you’re down for it. Their chicken is alright. Not gonna change your life. Their biscuits are glazed with some kind of honey sweetness. They are not for everyone but they’re ok. They make a lot fresh at mid day or 5. It’s hot and fresh. But that might’ve been out a while if you go at 3pm or 8pm. Adjust your expectations accordingly.

There are other fast food places that might do it better. I prefer Bojangles chicken and biscuits, for instance. But they’re serving decent food at a decent price.

I won’t drive out of my way to go here. But if I’m going past and need to eat, they’ll take care of me quickly and affordably. I’ve had worse from more expensive places many times :)”

“Food was great. The workers were working on too many orders at one time. So they weren't really focused on the customer in front of them. Which was not good. They almost gave my food to someone else. But I caught it before they did. Waited longer on my husband's sandwich. They just seemed a little disorganized. They were all friendly though.”
