While the beef and mashed potatoes were excellent, the salad, gumbo and vegetable mix were too spicy to eat. The other 6 people at my table felt the same concerning the salad and gumbo, as did those who also had the mixed vegetables.
From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, the ambiance set the stage for a memorable evening. The live music was the perfect backdrop, enhancing the fine dining experience without overwhelming conversation. Each steak was cooked to perfection. They don’t make chefs like John Duke anymore. The drinks menu was impressive, offering a wide variety of options. But what truly set this restaurant apart was the service. It was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly,...read full review
Chose Duke’s to enjoy a birthday dinner and quickly realized my wife and I had made a wonderful choice! As this was our first visit, we were initially impressed with the rustic decor and quiet, relaxed atmosphere. Our waiter, Brandon (also the bartender!) quickly made us feel at home and recommended a delicious white wine to start. From appetizers to main course to the quaint dessert spoons, the timings were perfect and our meal was on point. Main course choices were varied,...read full review

Duke's Restaurant and Wine Bar is a hidden gem that offers an excellent dining experience. The food is delicious, with standout dishes like the shrimp, sea scallops, and fish, as well as the crab cake served with asparagus, garlic mashed potatoes, and julienne squash. The menu has many fantastic options with lots of variety for all tastes, including a good section of specials. The restaurant also features well-prepared meals like the Elk Chop and hearty portions of roasted lamb chops. The staff is attentive and friendly, working hard to fix any issues and ensure a good experience, even during tough nights such as when the air conditioning was out. The atmosphere is fun, with music playing in the background, and the restaurant is wheelchair accessible. The decor is attractive, and the bathrooms are very clean, adding to the overall pleasant experience. Customers appreciate the kindness and empathy of the staff, especially during challenging times, and note that the drinks and food are top quality and reasonably priced. The restaurant is also suitable for groups and special occasions. However, the restaurant has been noted to not answer the phone during hours of operation, making reservations difficult, which affects the overall experience. Overall, Duke's provides a warm, welcoming environment with great food and service, and it remains a top choice for a lovely evening out.
