“Love the breakfast food and menu options. I'm a simple breakfast kinda guy, eggs, meat, side and I'm good to go. On those heavy breakfast days, add pancakes. All these items taste great and available. Grab a biscuit sandwich version to go and I'm set for lunch as well.“

“We had a wonderful experience at New South. It was our first trip to this establishment and we were celebrating our 41st wedding anniversary. for appetizers we had the fried goat cheese and the deviled eggs; both excellent. The entrees included the flat iron steak, and the grouper. They were nice enough to provide me with a gluten free version. Let's just say there weren't any leftovers as everything was very tasty! For dessert the fried blueberry pie and the cheesecake were very good. Neely our server, attended to our needs promptly and was personable as well. Overall we had a very nice pleasing dining experience and would recommend New South to anyone.“

“We were about 40 ladies and we ordered at the counter and the food came out very fast as each order was done. They were prepared for us....the food was very good and the portions were large. I had fried shrimp, french fries, hush puppies and Cole slaw with my order....“

“I ordered the fried chicken dinner with the bulgogi sauce, served with mac & cheese, a deviled egg, and a biscuit—and let me tell you, the fried chicken was chef’s kiss. Tender, flavorful, and somehow still crispy the next day after I packed it to go. The mac & cheese was a little underwhelming for me—creamy but could’ve used a bit more soul or seasoning. That said, the deviled egg was the perfect Southern touch, and the biscuit was warm, fluffy, and comforting.

The place itself feels like a cozy blend of your grandma’s kitchen and a cool, slightly gritty charm that fits right into the Midwood vibe. Heads-up: there’s a 3% credit card charge, which feels a little unnecessary these days, but aside from that, the food hit the spot and the service was fast and friendly. Definitely worth a stop if you’re craving some Southern comfort with character.“

His team prepared all the food and it was fabulous, seasoned to perfection, on time and did not disappoint. I will use Showmars in Monroe for my next event. “Fried Chicken is the best we’ve had since moving here 17 years ago, Mac& Cheese was creamy and delicious, Sweet Potato Tots dusted with Cinnamon and Sugar were yummy and the Jalapeño Cornbread was sweet and moist with just the right amount of peppers, service was good and our sweet tea was kept filled. Absolutely no complaints, highly recommend and look forward to our next visit!“

“So, I left this same review on Google, but I feel it needs to be seen in more places! Golden Corral in Monroe, NC, thank you for giving us that taste that most Golden Corrals have lost! Wife and I stopped in for lunch on a work trip. Honestly we had lost all hope in Golden Corrals, but something made me choose this one today. Wife and I were very surprised when we first came in contact with the cashier, and she actually had a pleasant attitude. Next, we grabbed our plates and headed to the buffet. The food had just been brought out. Normally an issue at these stores, the food sits there too long, so I figured it was just stroke of luck with them just bringing food out. So anyway, we got our first plates, and OH MY GOD, that first bite took us back to what Golden Corral was in the 90s!! This food was AMAZING!! Including the mashed potatoes that another comment said tasted bad. I counted at least 3 times they brought fresh food out of the back. We were there on a hour lunch. So yes, they kept food fresh! All the food was great! And our server….on point with everything. We didnt have one empty glass, and dirty plates didnt stay on the table long at all, she was also very friendly! I dont know whats with all the comments bashing this place, but our experience today was beyond what we hoped for. THIS is the way all Golden Corral stores need to be!“

“I really like this place. I will come to this restaurant whenever I am in Matthews. The service was supreme - I got a Bisquit to go with Apple Butter. I didn't have to ask for the Apple Butter! Both the Bisquit and Apple butter were delicious. The Apple butter had a nice smooth tangy and spicy taste like they made it themselves. and they made sure I was taken care of quickly.“
