“We always enjoy New South and have been regulars for many years. Tonight we had meatloaf with tomato jam and mashed potatoes, beef short rib and succotash and a delish peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream. The menu is an elevated farm to table experience and every item on it is so good and beautifully planted. The salads are all excellent but my favorite is the simple mixed greens with citrus dressing topped with grilled chicken. It's yummy. “

“Delicious old school southern cooking. If healthy eating is your thing, this is not your place. The interior is comfortably retro, with a couch seating area at the bar. The true star is the food. I ordered the country fried steak. It came with mashed potatoes and gravy. I chose collard greens and a deviled egg as my side, and the entree came with a biscuit. Everything was scratch made. The steak was fork tender, fried Golden brown and covered with lightly peppered scratch gravy. It was accompanied by homemade mashed potatoes, delicious and ever so slightly lumpy. The biscuit was baked to perfection, slightly crunchy and buttery. The collard greens were delicious. I had mine with vinegar. The deviled egg was good but not the best I've ever had. Overall, highly recommended.“

“My sweetie and I visited this establishment Saturday 6/13/26. I must say the staff was very friendly and helpful. I want too especially give a hat's off to 2 ladies in this establishment, GM Chelsea and our waitress Emma, they were great. They saw to all our needs. And I must say the food was outstanding. “I placed a catering order of Salmon, Flounder ,Zucchini and Squash. Ben Helms at the Monroe location was so accommodating and helpful. His team prepared all the food and it was fabulous, seasoned to perfection, on time and did not disappoint. I will use Showmars in Monroe for my next event. So happy, I made the right choice, everyone enjoyed everything absolutely delicious.“

“I have always taken my mom to the Golden Corral in Mathews for Thanksgiving since my grandmother passed and this is the cleanest and best Golden Corral I’ve ever been in. The manager runs such a great crew on busy holidays and he overlooks the dining room constantly making sure everybody is happy with service. He communicates very good with everybody and will help out his crew with any service someone needs. Such a great manager during these holiday times and me and my mom really appreciate this guy and all of his crew“

“We’ve eaten at this Flying Biscuit on Saturday’s several times, usually when we have family in town. This particular visit was amazing because of our Server. Stacey was amazing! She was attentive to details and made sure our experience was top notch. We all agreed we haven’t had such excellent service anywhere we’ve gone in some time! I did take one star away because when waiting to be seated outside I happened to notice the hostess placed our menus down and just left. She didn’t tell us we could be seated or anything. No wave over, etc. we just knew we were sitting outside and she said to give her a minute. Stacey made up for it though. She was easy to talk to, wonderful smile, and the best attitude. Our drinks were never empty and all over our needs were met. So if you need a good meal with great service ask for Stacey!“

“So, I left this same review on Google, but I feel it needs to be seen in more places! Golden Corral in Monroe, NC, thank you for giving us that taste that most Golden Corrals have lost! Wife and I stopped in for lunch on a work trip. Honestly we had lost all hope in Golden Corrals, but something made me choose this one today. Wife and I were very surprised when we first came in contact with the cashier, and she actually had a pleasant attitude. Next, we grabbed our plates and headed to the buffet. The food had just been brought out. Normally an issue at these stores, the food sits there too long, so I figured it was just stroke of luck with them just bringing food out. So anyway, we got our first plates, and OH MY GOD, that first bite took us back to what Golden Corral was in the 90s!! This food was AMAZING!! Including the mashed potatoes that another comment said tasted bad. I counted at least 3 times they brought fresh food out of the back. We were there on a hour lunch. So yes, they kept food fresh! All the food was great! And our server….on point with everything. We didnt have one empty glass, and dirty plates didnt stay on the table long at all, she was also very friendly! I dont know whats with all the comments bashing this place, but our experience today was beyond what we hoped for. THIS is the way all Golden Corral stores need to be!“
