We grabbed seats at the sushi bar and started with edamame and shrimp shumai—apparently we were hungry enough to forget the photos. The sushi rolls were incredibly fresh and flavorful, and we couldn’t resist adding the pineapple fried rice. Sweet, savory, and just the right amount of sticky.

The restaurant offers both teppanyaki seating, where the chef cooks right in front of you, and traditional tables. We opted for teppanyaki, a bit skeptical at first since the chef really makes or breaks the experience.\n\nOur party of seven filled a table to ourselves, which was a plus. Both our server and chef were excellent, and the food was even better. We ordered a mix of steak, shrimp, lobster, and sashimi. The chef was personable without being over-the-top, and he cooked everything perfectly — the flavors were spot-on.\n\nWe came in with modest expectations but left on a food high. “I was a faithful Shoguns customer until the food potions shrank and quality dropped. This is my first time ordering from here. The spring rolls are amazing, the curry chicken is perfect! The general Tao’s is perfect, the shrimp lo mein is perfect, and the pu pu platter for 2 is perfect! The serving size is exceptional!! The only thing I didn’t love was the pork fried rice, it’s not bad it’s just not as amazing as everything else. I can’t wait until we order again, I have so many different things I want to try.
