“My husband and I just took a chance one late afternoon while in that area on this Japanese restaurant. Well it was SO good we go back almost once a week. We live 15 miles from there but do not mind the driving to get great food. The owner is very nice, reasonable pricing and you get a good amount of food. And it's delicious!! To the woman who commented on the owners son running the front end. I grew up working at my father's business starting at 10 years old. There is absolutely nothing wrong with teaching your children entrepreneurship. I learned early on to work for a living and how to run a business and give customer service. I applaud this family for teaching their children life skills and one day this young man will more than likely own his own business.“
“I’m blown away! I’ve had a lot of sushi and poke bowls in my life, but this by far was the freshest and tastiest!! I ordered through DoorDash, and I was expecting things to be a bit cold or soggy per usual.. OH MY GOD. Everything was still warm, fresh and crisp. The packaging was put together neatly and I could see the time spent to make sure everything was good to go. I got the sushi burrito and all ingredients were fresh, crunchy, and well prepared. I’m a bit picky when it comes to sushi and bowls, and my order was 100% right which I was SHOCKED. I also got miso soup which I thought would be a side portion, nope it was a whole bowl of soup! The seaweed wasn’t slimy or seemed like it just sat for a long time. Again, super fresh! I personally do not have any dietary restrictions, but I thought it was neat how they had a separate section that you could check for allergies/intolerances! Yes I will say it is a bit pricey, but the quality completely makes up for it. Every other week when I get paid I “treat myself” to a better lunch. I was nervous ordering from here without seeing it in person and especially having the risk of it getting soggy from door dash. Completely exceeded my expectations. I personally called to tell them how impressed I was!!! 10/10 will order again and i definitely need to visit in person! Thank you guys for such care and quality!“

An attraction of Japanese cuisine is it's neat and orderly presentation which this Don definitely was not. It looked like the sauce was through it a bowl, a dollop of rice added and then the pork (in chunks not slices it seemed) thrown in the bowl, followed by the stirred egg thrown on top. Again the flavor was good but presentation was lacking - after all that's why you go to a Japanese restaurant!“

“Sushi republic is some of the best sushi you can get in Greensboro. It’s generally pretty busy but you can still get quick service during lunch. They also have a great lunch special for ~$11 for a sushi roll and either a cooked sushi set or a fresh sashimi set that comes with a salad and miso soup. Be mindful that they do close between lunch and dinner service though!“
“The food was amazing and the chicken was hot, fresh, and delicious. It takes awhile for your order to come out so I would recommend ordering ahead. My only concern is that I did not see a gratuity charge on the menu and was surprise to find one on my recipe when I ordered at the counter with four of my friends with each of us placing separate orders at the kiosk. I would return just maybe without them so I am not surprised by the extra charge.“

It seems like the restaurant is getting more “Americanized” , instead of sticking with their own international selections and seasonings. “Decided to try Mr.Kirin for the first time and it was good and moderately priced. They had a ton of door dash orders going out while we waited for our food. The vegetable tempura was very nice and not greasy. Our entrees were good but I really wished the spring rolls were made in house, these were the standard frozen ones. “Love this place for a quick hibachi steak and unlimited white sauce. The husband is the cook and wife usually is the cashier. Unpretentious authentic place. My husband got the shrimp and steak. You can get white rice or fried rice. I can make two meals for one order. They serve a big portion. The steak is not dry. I would have to try the scallop next time. Everytime we fly in to visit family here in NC we always make sure to stop by to get a taste. The vegetables are also good. Nit soggy.“

“This is my favorite "express" hibachi style restaurant! Compared to other restaurants of its kind, the quality of the food is like a "cook at your table" hibachi restaurant. I've tried a lot of the express style hibachi restaurants in Greensboro and none compare to the food quality here. For dinner only, they also have noodles which are amazing! The filet is definitely filet , you can tell where other restaurants of its kind the filet is questionable. The shrimp are big and quality shrimp unlike others where they seem to be small frozen shrimp, you can just tell the difference. If you want "sit down, cook at your table" quality Japanese hibachi food without having to do so and spend $50 a person, this is the place to go! Excellent! Always getting their orders right too. And the reason why they aren’t open late anymore, is because it’s only them running it with no help from anyone! As long as you eat dinner at a normal time and have patience, you will always get food! And I think they’re pretty darn fast with it just being the two of them! “Japanese food is one of my favorite types of food, especially hibachi. Oftentimes when I think of getting Japanese food, I think of the sit-down, cook it in front of you restaurants. Tokyo Express is not like that. It still has a sit-down option, but they do not cook it in front of you. It is much more affordable than many other Japanese restaurants and still tastes very good!“
“Some of the fake reviews on here are so off they're obviously fake. I've been going to this place for a few years with zero issue. The hibachi chicken here is a little dry so I get the teriyaki chicken instead. That have excellent spring rolls (highly recommend!). I wish the soup was a bit less salty but it's not bad otherwise, however I usually order salad instead. Their white sauce is excellent, and as far as overall "value for the money" it's outstanding. I've never had a bad meal here and would definitely recommend.“

The shrimp wrap was really good as well , it will definitely fill you up pretty good size for a wrap . I’m not big on wings but there wings are delicious like the reviews I highly recommend the sweet&chilli ones they have a yummy taste and have a good crunch to them . You instantly feel the spicy once you bite in and the sweetness . The 5point spicy was ok not too spicy for us but very good wings . The area may not be in the best place due to crime but we dint have any trouble with parking or the area . Service was great , the lady was real nice on the phone taking the order and we dint have to wait too long for our food . Highly recommend if you want some habachi and wings .“
“What a find, the people are friendly and warm, the food is really good food. The cost is great. This is not the best of japanese food I've eaten, but it is some of the best. I'm sure as the evening gets busy, the service is not as friendly and the food might not be the absolute best, but it's inside a gas station,it's in expensive and there was enough in the combo we ordered to fill us both and leave quite a bit behind. This is worth putting on your favorites list. Eat there, we did, or take it home. Hope I can find something like that where we live.“
