“Probably the best kept secret in Lake Lure. No idea why I had never heard of this place before. The best trout I’ve ever had. And people aren’t joking about the wedge salad. Just get it. Cocktails were mixed to perfection and desert wasn’t over the top…the perfect topper to a well balanced meal. Service was great too with Sydney (sp?).I would suggest more sweet to balance the savory of the charcuterie board. But otherwise the experience was perfection. Definitely making this a regular stop from now on.“

“I've dined here twice in the last 6 months. Both times I had a dog, so I sat outside on the patio- and it is so nice. Beautiful views while you eat and enjoy your wine! Twice I've had the smash burger, and it is SO GOOD. Ordered the brussel sprouts on both visits as well, they are perfection. A lot of places toss them in a sweet and spicy Thai sauce- but not here- they use a different dressing and it's delicious! Today I did a wine flight, and that includes four 2 oz pours. I tried the Gruner Veltliner , The reserve Chardonnay the white blend with the GV/Chard/Riesling, and the Rose. They were all nice and refreshing. On my first visit I ordered a burger patty for my best girl, (It was her birthday, and we'd hiked 9+ miles!) and today the pups split a grilled chicken breast. They are super dog friendly, and bring out water for the dogs. We had the beignets for dessert today, they were delicious. If you are hiking around Chimney Rock, Bat Cave, Lake Lure, then I highly recommend planning your lunch or dinner here!“

“No matter the season, they never fail to amaze and consistently deliver! The food is so good you’ll want to order one of everything on the menu. Their tastings are delivered exquisitely and informatively. The atmosphere inside is exciting, with lots of wines to purchase and wine-themed gifts available. The patio views outside are the best in Chimney Rock. The entire team all work tirelessly to execute a dining experience you’ll want to revisit over and over; from the first-class kitchen staff to the delightful and hard-working servers and tasters. This restaurant will be your favorite in Chimney Rock, and the delicious wine you’ll look forward to enjoying both at home and gifting to family and friends. Do not miss a visit to Burntshirt Tasting Room!Vegetarian options: Enormous Salads, cheese dishes, vegetable small plates and entrees.Dietary restrictions: They offer many gluten-free options!Kid-friendliness: Ask for the kids’ menu - my littles loved the burger, chicken tenders (homemade!) and French fries. Chef Kris even made them a special plate of bread pudding for dessert! They are quite comfortable both inside and on the patio, and when musicians are there they can even dance.“
