Owner came in and he sat right next time us. Really cozy and history on every wall. Decorating two thumbs šŸ‘ up and the lake is across the street. I had the fried green tomatoes, melted in my mouth.

Came here during Labor Day weekend. Was starving after doing an all day hike. Drove through Lake Toxaway and found this hidden gem. Food was so delicious. I ordered a Caesar Salad with blackened salmon, mocktail Moscow mule and hot tea with lemon. The inside is extremely cozy and trendy. Outside seating is catered towards looking out at lake toxaway. We had the most beautiful sunset and golden hour experience here eating and drinking. Friendly staff and they took me in with hiking clothes.

OH MY GOSH. WHAT A PLACE. The interior is decorated with history and local celebrities on the walls. Its quaint. Its cozy. Its moody even. The staff are SO nice and polite. The amount of manners they had was phenomenal. It is a small place, but the food was Michelin level presentation, however, Im gonna give it two to three dollar signs for price. $$-$$$. I will be stopping by there next time Im close.

2nd visit. On a Saturday in August for lunch. We got right in, Trish the bartender took excellent care of us. We started with the fried pickle spears which actually came out as fried pickle fries combined with a fabulous homemade ranch dip. These were excellent! Actually the best we've had! I ordered the Pork Sandwich w/fries & my husband ordered the burger w/fries. The Pork Sandwich was served with sliced thin pork vs pulled(in my head I thought it would be pulled pork) but it was amazing & so glad I ordered it. The fries were simple but good, my only suggestion would be handcut fries or seasoned fries like from brew city. OK so the burger is a tri-meat burger including brisket, pork & beef. He had it prepared medium & it was cooked to perfection. The burger was juicy & the flavor was so good he didn't add any ketchup. After all that we heard other diners saying how good the bread pudding is but not being a lover of bread pudding we decided on the Lemon-Chello cake & tiramisu to go but once the owner/Manager came over & told us about the bread pudding my husband ordered it. Wow, it's no bread pudding we've ever had, it is an Apple Bourbon infused cake with a crisp top & apple cake bottom. Served with vanilla ice cream, OMG. During our meal the staff stopped by often, bartender, owner & the Sous Chef. Excellent experience! Then we went outside & checked out the very cool & historic grounds then sat in some wonderful high boy Adirondack chairs overlooking Lake Toxaway. Overall we love this place, right down to the dim lit, historical train depot with fireplace & taxidermy. Can't wait to go back! Pics for attention lol.

We recently came to Grande Olde Station as we were staying nearby. The restaurant definitely has a beautiful setting, even with sitting outside while cars zoom on by! They are dog friendly with their patio seating.

We were started with hot rolls with honey butter, which were so good! But here is where the issues started. We ordered the fried plantains as an appetizer, I ordered the crab cake appetizer as my meal, and my husband ordered the trout.

We waited for a little bit and then my husband's trout was brought to the table. We were asked if we were sharing this when it was delivered, but we said no, we ordered an appetizer and one appetizer as a meal. They apologized and said that is all they saw on the ticket, and they have some new cooks, but would go check on it for us. We waited...and waited, and finally my husband started on his meal so he could enjoy it warm. Eventually, the plantains and the crab cakes came out. My husband enjoyed his trout, and I thought the crab cakes were fine, but the standout was the plantains. They are very different than what I have ever had. They were sweet, spicy with the chorizo, and cheesy. Highly recommend that appetizer.

Our server never checked on us during our meal and took awhile to eventually check on us when we were finished. It was like he forgot he had a table to serve outside.

Even with the poor service, we decided to order dessert, and went for the brownie skillet. I was expecting this to be like a cookie skillet - cookies cooked in a skillet, served gooey and warm with ice cream on top. This was just a brownie plopped in a skillet for show with some ice cream. It was fine, but ultimately a disappointment.

For a place that is a little bit on the pricier side, I cannot give it high stars as we did not get the food and service as expected at a nicer restaurant. They definitely have potential to be better.

My hubby and I had the pleasure of eating brunch at Grand Olde Station on Sunday afternoon. We both ordered the chicken and waffles. We received generous servings, but there wasn’t a bite left on either of our plates because the food was outstanding! And speaking of outstanding, the service provided by Will was terrific! Beautiful location, can’t wait to go back😊

Really wanted to love this place given the history, beautiful building and the lake views. It was sorely understaffed. The 2 servers - inside and outside were working their keister’s off. The bartender stepped in to help - FINALLY after having only 3 patrons at the bar. The crab cakes were the size of medium scallops - 2 for $24. We were hoping they were mouth watering and to die for, but unfortunately, they were weirdly textured and lacking flavor. The fried pickles were decent. The black bean burger was sorely under seasoned, and the fires a bit undercooked. Overall, it was a meh lunch for a whole lot of $$. Don’t think we will return.
