“My husband and I love Mattie Lou’s! Everyone there is incredibly kind and welcoming. The biggest problem I have is not buying one of each item. My husband loves the peanut butter cookies and the biscuits. Her ham and cheese croissants are the best I’ve ever had. I also love the brown sugar lattes. Mattie Lou has become our Friday must visit.“

“You can’t go wrong with the AMAZING pound cakes! So far, Ive had the vanilla, almond and last, but not least, turtle! The cakes are delicious and worth every penny. Not only can you have the cake shipped to you, its FAST!! The customer service is above and beyond as well. Highly recommend.“

“I try biscuits and gravy every time I travel. This was the all-time best biscuits and sausage gravy I’ve ever had. Biscuits are wonderful, soft and delicate on the inside, and a perfect crunch on the outside. The sausage gravy was light, very flavorful, and just plain outstanding. I admit to ordering a sausage patty as well, which the cut into chunks and spread over the top. A true 10-out-of-10 experience.“

“I ordered a cake for my Daughter’s birthday that was gluten, egg and nut free and it was absolutely delicious. My daughter we so excited to finally get to eat a real birthday cake. It made the day extra special. Most of the other bakeries I spoke with couldn’t accommodate making a cake with substitutes within the timeline I was hoping but Shawn was able to help make this happen. We can’t wait to come back and try her other treats!“

“Just putting up a 5 star to offset the psycho who put a 1 star for this place not wearing a mask during Covid. Been to the outdoor mall twice and still haven't been here as it's not in the food court and even Google maps is no help to find it.“

“Recently went to Asheville for a long weekend vacation. We had our breakfast at Owl every single morning! All of the baked goods, sweet and savory, rival anything found anywhere. Delicious lattes are served by the most charming staff! I would drive back to Asheville just to visit this beautiful bakery.“

“I am visiting from out of town. I am so pleased that I happened upon Well-Bred. I had the chicken salad on a croissant my first visit and returned for a cappuccino and flourless torte the next day.
Both visits I was assisted by a super helpful and genuine employee named River. I had a few questions about the Asheville area which River answered with an authentic smile, and a few quick recommendations to take my trip to the next level. I will definitely return!!“
