“Amazing coffee! I do a coffee trail always while there in OBX. There are several places I go to ( at least7) and while they are all great, Charis Coffee took the award this time! Coffee was amazing and service wonderful. Spent some time reading requests off the prayer wall and prayed for some of them! Wonderful atmosphere!!!! But seriously try the coffee!!! I had the Native iced!!! So good….?“

“I had the BEST EVER fried shrimp. I have allergies to fresh lemon, etc. and they actually listened! Geno, one of the owners personally brought my plate to me! And getting Diet Pepsi was a plus! I tried mushy peas for the first time, too...modern British cuisine! Didn't get dessert, we were too full! We had a pretzel for an appetizer, could have used regular cheese for dipping instead of 3 mustards....Dietary restrictions: I'm gluten intolerant and took my Gluten Ease and was able to eat the delicious foods. Chips (thick cut French fries) were coated with a breading....good as well! Husband had the crab cake sandwich but it was just ok he said.“

“I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the SaltBox Cafe. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the staff was very polite and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious, and the portion was perfect for me. My coffee was kept topped off and warm. The other patrons that were regulars had a little banter going on with the staff that just added to the charm of this little Cafe. I would definitely recommend it and will return!“

“Overall, I had a mixed experience. While the porkchop had good flavor, it was unfortunately overcooked and a bit dry. However, the smashed potatoes were excellent, offering a savory complement to the main dish as well as the fried mac and cheese. The service was exceptional; the waitress was friendly and accommodating, even going the extra mile to include a generous piece of cake to make up for the dry porkchop.The atmosphere of the restaurant was delightful, especially as I dined upstairs, which provided a refreshing change of pace and offered a unique view of a small backyard through the window. Despite the culinary misstep with the porkchop, the overall experience was pleasant, thanks to the attentive service and enjoyable ambiance. Highly recommend all their deserts.“

“Found in a collection of shops, wasn't sure what I'd find. Delightful food experience! I was looking for something healthy and high protein as hubby wasn't hungry. Found this and was nearby...so glad I tried their Bowl.Chicken, roasted chickpeas, rice, quinoa and black beans, mixed greens, mushrooms and creamy ripe avocado stuffed into a to go container with balsamic dressing on side. It was so good and I was guided by a pleasant cashier who walked me through how to order it.Who knew this gem was here for those of us trying to be better to ourselves. They close @ 3:30 so get there for breakfast or lunch.Vegetarian options: Options abound, plant based proteins, menu selections and entrees or sidesDietary restrictions: Keto, gluten-free, dairy-free, others are well labeled and options on menu.“

“I can't recommend Johanna and her staff enough! They catered our wedding at the Aquarium last weekend and it was absolutely fantastic. Their staff is so friendly and the food is off the charts good. It was literally the highlight of the evening, everyone kept going on and on about the food!“

The hostess that greated us was friendly and most attentive. After being seated, the waitress by the name of Maggie D. greeted us. Her warm smile and friendly attitude made us feel quite welcome. During the entire meal experience, Maggie D. was most attentive to our every need. Not only did we have a delicious meal, we had a first class waitress experience. Basnight's Lone Cedar food is top notch and they should be very proud to have someone like Maggie D. represent their fine restaurant.“
