“Such a fun unique restaurant in Matthews, North Carolina. It’s located in downtown Matthews on one of the side streets. Previouslyonly offered small plates, but they changed the menu recently. They do have a nice selection of different types of foods. If you’re a vegetarian, there’s always options to not include the protein. We went a couple weeks ago with friends. Everyone enjoyed their drinks and food. Great place to go with friends or a date night.“

“Visited Matthews, NC few days ago and had lunch here. The food was awesome (I had Jalapeno Poppers and Peter Piper burger), and so was the beer selection (I had a really good blonde ale (cannot recall the name unfortunately)). Service was great, and washrooms were clean. The place has a really cool vibe to it, looks like one would feel at home there while watching sports on one of the many screens.“

“On Friday 8/23, we came to The Crunkleton on a recommendation for my daughter’s birthday and we were NOT disappointed! From the moment we walked in the atmosphere and the staff were wonderful! We had Cole as our server and regardless of how busy it was that night, he made us feel like we were his only priority. He was very knowledgeable about your massive spirit selections and I mean massive! The food was fantastic and cooked to perfection. We got the Really Good Burger and let me tell you, we said medium and it was on point! It was very well seasoned which is rare when you go out to restaurants. Then to top off the night, my daughter got the beignets with the cold brew icing, WOW! I am a sweets person and these with that icing just WOW! Cole even put a candle on the rim of the dish because it was her birthday! So, you have our business any time we are in Charlotte! I just can’t say enough about our experience!!! “I reserved the upper bar for my birthday party and this was the perfect place for my event! The staff before, during and after were very attentive to my needs. They answered my questions, accommodated my special requests, and were available when needed. My guests gave me the same feedback for that evening. That is exactly what one wants to be able to relax and enjoy during a special event. The price was reasonable. The food was great especially the turkey meatballs, Cuban sliders, ahi tuna, crab cakes, and Mac and cheese. Overall the food and drinks were tasty. We brought in a DJ and had space to dance. “The Ugly isn't ugly, it's quite beautiful.

This is a neat bar near the tracks & Chamber by Wooden Robot. If you aren't looking for it, it's actually quite easy to miss.

Inside, there's old time bar mirrors & decor which fit the bar perfectly. The bartenders are quick & do a solid job.

There's option of different types of ugly cocktails but let's be honest, the $2 Narragansett is the best deal in Charlotte. The cocktails are affordable for Charlotte which gives them an edge over many other options nearby.

I'd recommend coming down, getting a gansett & a shot, & enjoy your time chatting with the locals.

The cocktail selection was big and fancy. Really good all of them. A bit pricey but definitely a recommended date night.

My only complaint is the membership, which only gets you access to the bar. Which is a great bar... But there's several other great bars without a membership that requires you put your credit card number, works as a yearly subscription that if you cancel, you lose the rest of the year.... Kinda predatory.

So since we're being predatory, I'm gonna complain about a lot of petty stuff as well.
-Some of the staff was dressed very casual. Not uniformly. Not what I expect from a club I'm paying a membership.
- bathrooms toilet was not flushed when I'm coming in. Pretty not membership worthy.
- water is tap water. And the one that taste bad. You can buy 24 water bottle pack with half of one membership.

What am I paying for?

Anyways. Besides those predatory practice, it is a great place with great food and great drinks. Just had to speak my mind“

“My son, his GF and I had brunch here this past Saturday and it was beyond delightful! The food and the service were absolutely perfect, and the weather for sitting on the patio couldn't have been better. Our server (Samantha?) was spot on, sweet, and very helpful. We ordered the blintzes, Eggs Benedict with cheddar jalapeño grits, Turkish Eggs, and breakfast tacos with home fries and we split everything. We were all in food paradise for the next hour or so. I have never considered myself to be a blintzes person, but each bite was like a pillow of heavenly sweetness. When we got the check we were all shocked that it was only $65, as we all thought it would be over $100. I can't recommend this place more highly and I will return as often as I can!“

“Let me tell you about the best server ever.
I lost my phone in Charlotte and and Uber driver that didn’t speak English found it walking down the road. Since he only spoke Spanish I went to the bar and Nohemi not only talked to him she negotiated the return of my phone. NOT ONLY THAT. She came out side in the 22 degree weather to help me translate with the guy!
