“Lazy night so ordered takeout from Sumo first timers. Quick turnaround ready as promised upon arrival - there are a few tables inside but looks like it's mostly go biz. I wanted spicy (Chinese) and wife wanted hibachi (Japanese). She had the winning choice as her steak & shrimp was ample, tender and tasty. My Hunan Shrimp was underwhelming - not zippy at all and overload ratio of veg to shrimp seemed almost bland vegetarian. Fortunately the Gyozo steamed pork dumplings appetizer was delightfully sublime and we got a dozen for $7. The value was sound for the volume of the meals.....i just expected more from "Hunan" style in my dish. I'm sure we'll be back and I'll go Szechuan instead.“

“Love this place. We go for the soup and sashimi my girlfriend can eat (she can't eat rice). I used to go for the udon noodles, but ever since i found it i have been getting their katsu bento boxes for the variety. You get the main dish, dumplings, fried rice, a soup or salad and a roll! I always get a spicy salmon roll om the side and we usually get edamame (so much better hot!). Love the whole experience! For both me and my girlfriend with the apps, a la carts and entres we usually spend about $60. They have cheaper lunch specials, but you get smaller portions. Highly recommend!“

“No ambiance whats so ever if you get the regular table. Ordered a hibachi shrimp and hibachi chicken. Shrimp did not taste fresh and chicken was bland. Rice was also not good.
Sushi was below average. For the price that they are asking none of it is worth it.
The hibachi room seems to be the reason why people come here because other than that its dead.
I have visted plenty of hibachi's and this is the bottom of the bottom. Never coming back“

“Wife thought the Hibachi style shrimp & steak was very good, and loved the white sauce for dipping.....the perfect delicate fried soft-shell crabs as an appetizer. While my Chicken Pad Thai was tasty, it lacked any spicy edge whatsoever and had minimal peanuts and no veg at all. So many ways to assemble pad thai and this wasn't nearly zippy or complete enough for my taste. Not bad, just not my preference. this was our first but will not be our last visit.“

“Place was packed but seated and serviced right away.
For drink. Highly recommend Korean tea.
We had spicy California rolls fresh and tasty, and Tonkotsu Ramen tempura 🍤 with spicy garlic sauce. Probably best sushi restaurant in New Bern.“
