“Very kind and friendly. My girl loved the potatoes- they were good. The coffee wasn’t great but it could’ve been the roast that they used just isn’t my favorite. This is your above average breakfast place.

“We found Hickory Tavern through our Airbnb recommendations, and we’re so glad we did! From the moment we walked in, Keone greeted us with a huge smile and made us feel right at home. Keone and Zach were both incredibly friendly and took the time to talk with us about our short stay in North Carolina.

Our server, Shaq, was awesome and provided some of the best service we’ve had in the area. Everyone was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely seemed happy to have us there. Zach even gave us a beer glass as a little souvenir, which was such a cool and unexpected touch!

If you’re in the Pinehurst area, definitely give Hickory Tavern a try. Great people, great hospitality, and an overall 10/10 experience!“

“We came in for an early lunch so didn't need reservations. Nayelli was super helpful by providing various recommendations. The house lager & hibiscus hole in one was superb & refreshing with the BLT & Street Corn Salad (added chicken). Everything was fresh and went perfectly with the afternoon temps. Both dishes were generous portions. Come hungry. We had the veranda with the large windows, to ourselves. I bet reservations would be recommended for later in the afternoon. Perfect lunch spot!“

“A great place to stay. The recently renovated rooms are comfortable, quiet, and well-appointed. The in-room Nespresso and welcome basket of local goods were great touches. Breakfast in the Carolina Dining Room and dinner downstairs at Villaggio are wonderful ways to start and end the day. My only complaint - Magnolia room keys don’t work at the resort fitness center, so you can’t access that amenity until they can get that fixed.“

I would like to pass on a special thank you to two employees Brendan Atherton and Jordan Allen , who asked me to join them while playing #1 . “This is a really nice place to meet friends for lunch. Soup and a sandwich, please! Never had a bad plate, the cook really cares about your meal. The croissants melt in your mouth. It feels like everything is responsibly homemade. The patio is like a garden, huge and surrounded by trees, not traffic. Inside, lots of 2 and 4-top tables that can be combined for larger groups. (No booths.) Easy and close parking. Plan to take something from the bakery section home, you won't be sorry you did.“

“I have had clam chowder there many times, drove 35 miles from Sanford to get the chowder today. It has always been very good; today it was horrible. It was loaded, no way overloaded, with bacon. Bad bacon, like some smoky, applewood, weirdo bacon of some sort. Whoever made this batch should be spanked! lol. I know you don't get it perfect every time, but this was just poor management of a dish. Pay attention in the kitchen!!“

“Everything was excellent except for the attitude of the waitress. She bragged that she had been there 22 years. Unfortunately, she didn't seem happy to still be working there. She never offered the Early Bird Special menus, even though we were there at 5:00. I had to ask for the menu for it. She seemed very annoyed we asked for them. She never gave us the cards for keeping track of how many times we go to the Pine Crest Inn Early Bird Special. We had to ask for them too. She was not friendly at all during our whole meal.“

“Four of my lady friends had dinner at Dugan’s Saturday afternoon & we were very pleased. Two of the ladies had the grilled cheese sandwich, one lady had the fish fry & I had the salad with cranberries, pecans & feta cheese with a grilled chicken breast. It was the best salad I have had in a long time & I will definitely order it again. The service was wonderful & we will be back soon!“
