It feels like everything is responsibly homemade. The patio is like a garden, huge and surrounded by trees, not traffic. Inside, lots of 2 and 4-top tables that can be combined for larger groups. “Had an amazing experience this past weekend, we brought both my parents and five month old daughter for an early seating. The steak special was 10oz and even had a langoustine cheese topping, chunks of lobster yum!!, mom had the barramundi fish special and the white Bordeaux blend were outstanding. Love how there are constantly specials changing but some of our favorites (the duck and hangar steak) remain on the menu. Attentive staff had pairing recommendations and everyone felt the warm, positive vibes coming from the kitchen! We’ve eaten here for years and this past weekend was next level, thank you!“

The house lager & hibiscus hole in one was superb & refreshing with the BLT & Street Corn Salad (added chicken). Everything was fresh and went perfectly with the afternoon temps. “Our server, Wanda was great! The meal was good. I ordered a 14 oz ribeye, but ended up with a New York Strip. Our waiter was having the cook staff to prepare a ribeye for me and the manager came out to reassure me that my steak was a ribeye. I didnt want to make an issue of the cut, but I should have let him know that I raise beef cattle for a living. The strip was decent, but not as good as a ribeye and certainly overpriced at what a ribeye cost. Thank you Wanda, you provided great service!“

“Stumbled across this spot for lunch & was so impressed. I had the steak frites and it was amazing, cooked perfectly with amazing garnishes & bone marrow. Fries were phenomenal and the sprouts were perfectly roasted. My fiance had the stuffed chicken and also cleaned his plate. We already can’t wait to go back! “I have had clam chowder there many times, drove 35 miles from Sanford to get the chowder today. It has always been very good; today it was horrible. It was loaded, no way overloaded, with bacon. Bad bacon, like some smoky, applewood, weirdo bacon of some sort. Whoever made this batch should be spanked! lol. I know you don't get it perfect every time, but this was just poor management of a dish. Pay attention in the kitchen!!“

“Typical Donald Ross design! Probably the most undulating greens on any course that I've played that he designed! They redesigned the course a few years ago and added more undulations that Ross would have had in the original design to make the course more difficult, due to some holes being fairly short in distance! They also went back to the original sand hills natural areas instead of rough grass! If you're a great putter , you'll love this course!“

“Four of my lady friends had dinner at Dugan’s Saturday afternoon & we were very pleased. Two of the ladies had the grilled cheese sandwich, one lady had the fish fry & I had the salad with cranberries, pecans & feta cheese with a grilled chicken breast. “Found this gem on Yelp. Visited with my husband, my son, and his girlfriend. The food was so good and the flavor profiles excellent. My husband and I split a cup of the seafood chowder - fabulous. I had the Mexican shrimp tacos, my husband had the special quiche, my son had a taco that was supposed to come on a flour tortilla, but they gladly substituted corn, and his girlfriend had the salmon wraps. At the end we split a piece of peanut butter pie. The food was all delicious including the sides of homemade regular and sweet potato chips and the broccoli slaw. We will definitely go back. As we left the owner took our pictures with our motorcycles pulled up to the entry. Awesome“

Breakfast in the Carolina Dining Room and dinner downstairs at Villaggio are wonderful ways to start and end the day. My only complaint - Magnolia room keys don’t work at the resort fitness center, so you can’t access that amenity until they can get that fixed.“

“Everything was excellent except for the attitude of the waitress. She bragged that she had been there 22 years. Unfortunately, she didn't seem happy to still be working there. She never offered the Early Bird Special menus, even though we were there at 5:00. I had to ask for the menu for it. She seemed very annoyed we asked for them. She never gave us the cards for keeping track of how many times we go to the Pine Crest Inn Early Bird Special. We had to ask for them too. She was not friendly at all during our whole meal.“

“Dined at Longhorn Steakhouse in Southern Pines NC which was right across from the Residence Inn by Marriott. They do a slamming business with take out orders. It's in a very convenient location. We had to wait about 25 minutes for our food but that was fine. You could see that the kitchen was busy! Lots of staff so that was a good sign. Our food was delish!! I got the salmon 10 oz with seasoned rice and broccoli and salad. Hubby got the New York strip steak medium well, roasted mushrooms and a side salad with blue cheese dressing. No dessert this time but we were full. Jayna was our waitress and she did a fantastic job!!“
