“I got a a pork bahn mi and it was honestly the best bahn mi I’ve had in the Charlotte area. I’m from Seattle and was missing the fresh flavor that comes with them. The bread was soft and toasty, vegetables were fresh and crunchy, pork was delicious and the aioli was really really good.“

I used to go here all the time when it was Vietnam Grille, I didn’t realize they reopened under a new name until last month. “Absolutely loved this place! The bánh mì was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced—the bread was crispy on the outside and soft inside, just how it should be. The ingredients tasted high quality, and everything was made to perfection.

The service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere was clean and welcoming. You can tell they really care about the food and the customer experience.

There’s only about 2-3 small tables that will fit 2 for sure, maybe 3 if there’s an extra chair and then one bar table that’ll fit 4 people.“

“This place should be more obvious because it was AMAZING. I usually go to the tea house across the street for banh mi but they are closed on Wednesday but I really had a hunger for one. This restaurant is literally right across the street. Don't let the appearance deter you, the most unassuming things and places can surprise you. i had the grilled pork and it was by far the best banh mi I have EVER had. If you are spending less than $10 (which is really easy to do) then bring cash for the courtesy of the owners so they aren't hit with stupid over charges. Otherwise cards are fine. Will definitely be coming back.“

The staff is always accommodating ( we added 4 extra people at the last minute), they were so friendly bringing up an extra table & chairs. “The Yum Nua (spicy beef salad) was a 7/10 for me. It only had like 6 pieces of beef and a LOT of red onion. The flavor and spice level was pretty good though. Would have been better with more tomatoes and cucumbers if the beef was going to be lacking. I’m not trying to eat forkfuls of onion.

Mango sticky rice was good but overpriced for the size.

The thai tea was NOT good.
It was extremely sugary and lacked that thai tea depth and flavor. It was giving Americanized thai tea vibes.

“My adult son loves Akahana. We ordered sushi rolls because they are always Bogo. They were good and plenty. The fish in and in the rolls tasted fresh. We lived in Tokyo for a year and have authentic sushi to compare. Oishi desu!!! The spicy, not hot, just flavorful edamame were outstanding. Felt like a well-worn diner, but don't put your chopsticks away on that count! We will go again.“
