18 Best Chicken Restaurants in Raleigh

“In Raleigh for a college tour and we wanted a simple restaurant to try out for dinner and obviously we checked out the reviews for restaurants in the area. Me being a fan of Chicken and Waffles, I said say less. We arrived at the restaurant and were quickly seated, got our menus and unfortunately, we waited. On the night we visited, it seems that there was only one waitress but she did the best she could.

We placed our orders and considering the staff shortage, our food came out in decent time. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles which can be customized with breasts, wings, thighs or drumsticks. I was pleasantly surprised with the flavor of the chicken; my only complaint was the chicken breast was too greasy and had an oily aftertaste. The waffle was delicious, well made and perfect.

One interesting thing that happened that caught me off guard was my daughter ask if she could have some extra sauce for her chicken sandwich and the guy quickly says that’ll be an extra charge. There wasn’t that much sauce in the first place but whatever. We paid extra ? The atmosphere was quiet and the decor was decent. I could see myself coming back in the future but realistically, I’d probably try another restaurant.“

“They pay very close attention to detail everytime if you ask for 5 extra sauces they will put at least 5 vs some other places give you less. I’ve just always had a consistent good experience at this location !! Thank you to the staff keep doin what’s you’re doing“

“We just left and were quite impressed with how Paris and Frances were managing the entire dining area. The simply refreshing part is they both looked like they were totally enjoying their jobs. Before leaving, I told Frances they were both doing great jobs. She replied “We are trying. There’s two of us. Please come back and see us again!” I was so surprised. Nobody tells you that anymore. Great job Chick fil A for hiring these two!“

“Food nasty and the owner has a even nastier attitude. Just because this is a black owned business it doesn't mean we have to lie and say the food is good, when in most cases you cant even eat a bite of it due to the amount of salt on the food. I will always give a honest review no matter the owners skin color. This owner is rude and will block you for leaving a honest review if it is not to his likings. Hopefully one day he will get it together, take the critism and make some improvements“

“I went there today and sat in the drive thru for a while because it was right at lunch time. I was on my lunch break. When I got to the window I realized I forgot my wallet. Instead of saying sorry we can’t give you this, the lady at the window was so nice and said she would talk to the manager. She came back, handed me the food, and said merry Christmas! I didn’t mention I’m 3 months pregnant but I really appreciate what they did!!“

“We visited this Popeyes while traveling. The chicken was good, but didn't have that LOUISIANA Popeyes chicken taste. Something in the recipe is missing. But it was good, and the chicken pieces were much larger than what we get in Louisiana and Texas.“

“I don’t believe that any chicken tenders in the city of Raleigh compare to these. Large, juicy, crunchy, and very hot. Dinged the place one star because they did not have he jambalaya side that I wanted, so I said “beans & rice.” They didn’t have that either! Went with mac & cheese…fine, but really?“

“I know this branch is undergoing a renovation soon (like starting tomorrow), but just wanted to give some feedback. The staff is always great, food is on par, but the play place is absolutely disgusting. I come here with my son as a treat on Wednesdays after his speech lesson. I know that high traffic children’s areas are never going to be spotless, but this play place looks like it has never seen a Clorox wipe, ever. I’ve been told that the location will still have a play place after the reno, and I’m happy about that as long as they can commit to actually attempting to clean it.“

“Food is always good and chick - fil- A and I love it. This particular place had a problem with toilet. out of our 2 were out of reach CLOSED for maintenance and the one that was open also not in good shape - not flushing. Did report to counter but guess they didn't bother that much.“

“I do not like KFC but this place is special. I have been here twice with my son and very good food. The chicken is from Pilgrams Farms so it’s locally sourced. Extremely clean eating environment.

Kid-friendliness: I see kids here and saw some ladies that works here talking nice to them.“
