If you're looking for authentic Southern comfort food in Raleigh, Southern Diner is absolutely worth the visit.
I ordered the Big Meat Omelet with grits, and the omelet alone is enough to make me come back. They made it with fresh cracked eggs, which is getting harder to find these days, and you can truly taste the difference. It was fluffy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly.
The grits weren't my favorite I should've gone with the hash browns but you live and you learn!

Cute little diner off Glenwood (near 540) in Raleigh. Nice couple running the restaurant and a fantastic Mushroom & Swiss burger! Will definitely be back.
