“Review:My wife and I share a deep appreciation for hotdogs, so when I stumbled upon this spot on Facebook, we were eager to give it a try. First time experiences mean a lot to us, regardless of the context, so we approached our visit with a mixture of anticipation and curiosity.Upon arrival, it was evident that the owner was in the midst of renovations, which somewhat affected the atmosphere. However, we believe in honesty when it comes to reviews, hence the 3-star rating in this category. Despite the ongoing changes, there was an air of excitement and potential that hinted at what was to come. Now, let’s talk about the food. It was nothing short of exceptional. You could immediately discern that the owner takes great pride in serving top-notch fare. Each bite of the hotdogs was a testament to the care and attention to detail put into crafting them. Moreover, the variety offered was impressive, catering to different dietary preferences and restrictions. My wife, who typically avoids pork and beef, was delighted to find a Turkey Chilli option on the menu, further enhancing our dining experience.Beyond the delectable food, what truly stood out was the owner’s exemplary customer service. From the moment we walked in, he made us feel like old friends, warmly welcoming us and engaging us in friendly conversation. It was evident that he genuinely cared about his customers’ satisfaction, going above and beyond to ensure that we had a memorable dining experience. In conclusion, despite the ongoing renovations, our visit to this hotdog spot exceeded our expectations in terms of both food quality and customer service. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and left with the intention of becoming regular patrons. We eagerly anticipate returning to see how the establishment evolves and to indulge in more of their delicious offerings. This review aims to provide a comprehensive overview of our experience, highlighting both the strengths and areas for improvement while expressing our genuine enthusiasm for this hidden gem of a hotdog spot.“

“My first time dining for my husband 50th birthday. Our waitress Destinee was amazing. She provided us with a detailed history of the house where the restaurant is operating out of built in 1879. Destinee made wonderful food recommendations and made our celebration a memorable one. The food was delicious from first course lump crab salad to quail. Our main course dishes were beautiful plated with French influences. Also I have to add their chef is one of the best in the area. We can't wait until our next special celebration. Thanks again!“

“Stopped at this restaurant and it did not disappoint. If you're a vegetarian your options are really only salads or the butternut squash ravioli, but don't let this deter you from coming. The butternut squash ravioli was the best ravioli I've ever had. It was rich and creamy with the perfect mix of mushroom and sweetness from the squash. The marinated avocado salad was delicious as well. I don't usually like blue cheese but it was very mild in this dish. The people I was with ordered the pot pie which they said was great. The service was also great and everyone was extremely friendly. Would 100% recommend.“

The interior design and scenery inside Margaux's is unique and eclectic with lots of art that keeps you interested, commenting, and looking around throughout the meal. The service was excellent and our waitress knew all of the details about the menu, but she wasn't annoying about it. The waitress also had a great ratio of checking on us versus letting us eat/enjoy ourselves. The food was incredible, we ordered the Brussels sprouts, spinach salad, and Thai coconut soup, which were all really tasty and had perfect portion sizes. For the main course, we ordered the Yellowfin Tuna and Asado Chicken; both were large portions, delivered as ordered, and tasted great. I'd love to have the tuna again, it was cooked to perfection. I would definitely return to Margaux's as the menu changes daily/weekly. The total cost for drinks/food/tip was very reasonable and valued appropriately when compared to the food quality the restaurant delivered.“

“We ate here for our anniversary and really enjoyed it! We made reservations for 2 at the bar because all the table reservations before 9 pm were full, but when we arrived, a table was open and offered to us, which was really nice! (LIkely, we also would have been happy at the bar, but I'm pregnant, so the comfy booth seat was welcome.) The service was superlative, both from our attentive server and others who jumped in any time they walked by and saw something that could be done. The non-alcoholic cocktail was fantastic! Both food and drink menus are curated rather than extensive. We are parents of a small child who rarely get out to restaurants, so when we do go, we love to taste a variety of options on the menu. Your ordering style may vary. For starters, we ordered the yellowfin crudo (a standout and possibly the best dish from my perspective) and crispy porcelet belly (very tasty, although the skin was more tough and chewy than crispy). The manchego-herb biscuits were amazing in taste and texture, like, how do they do that? For entrees, we had the lamb loin and bavette steak. My lamb was nice, but the flavor of the steak dish (my husband's) was unreal. (Normally, I would have ordered the seafood, but the only option was swordfish, and I had already used up my weekly serving of potentially-high-in-mercury seafood with the yellowfin crudo, worth it!) After sharing two appetizers, biscuits, and an entree each, we were really full. However, I had been anticipating the triple cheesecake with rhubarb, so we got a portion to go. It was unusual - very strong on the savory cheese flavor in the cake - but we both really liked it. (Would I have liked more rhubarb? Yes, but I love rhubarb, and not everyone agrees. Rhubarb skeptics, this is a safe dish for you.) Two starters, two entrees, a side, two drinks each, and one dessert put our total just north of $200. Not a huge consideration for us, but it's a small-ish space with dark decor and modern, minimal lighting. I've spoken with others who remembered it as a bit cramped. The music is... not quiet... with prominent bass, but we sat next to each other and were able to talk. We definitely plan to go back. Edited to add: We were also really impressed by the short ticket times! Our food came out very promptly, and we finished three courses and had our take-out dessert ready to go in just over an hour. We also didn't feel rushed, as though we could have lingered without any pressure from the server to free up the table. As folks who no longer get out much, that's a huge plus.“

“!!!Validate parking or get a ticket!!!.Burger was good, the meat was quality and ingredients actually had taste..Nachos were ALOT of food for the price and also good.. Chicken on the chicken sandwich was dry and bland by itself. My only complaint.Atmosphere was great, but make sure you validate your parking!“

“SERVICE/ATMOSPHERE:This place was lovely. All the staff were so sweet and helpful. Definitely a gem in downtown, great for a date or an intimate catch up with an old friend.FOOD:We started with the pimento cheese, local jam, and fig tostadas, which were INCREDIBLE!! A must have if you visit here.I got the portobello mushroom and avocado grilled cheese with tomato soup, which was okay. The cheese and avocado together were a bit heavy. My partner got the burger, which he said was awesome! He said the hand cut fries were very good.OVERALL:We had a lovely time. Shoutout to our server Dvir, impeccable vibes from him.“

“One of the few places that serve chilaquiles in the area. Choice of sauces with it too! Great service with really good variety of dishes. Tamales on Sundays. Will definitely be back to try the fried fish options. Nothing fancy with the decor but you’ll enjoy the food!“

“What a fantastic local diner run by the nicest people you'll ever meet.We came in for a late brunch about an hour and a half before closing and it was pretty quiet so service was quick. We seated ourselves and had our drink orders taken immediately and placed our orders which took maybe 10-15 minutes to come out, very fast.We had the country fried steak, egg, and cheese sandwich and the BLT with fries and everything was fresh, hot, and delicious. It easily beats out anything I ever had from Denny's or IHOP. Since it's right in our neighbourhood, we'll definitely be back often!“

“Saw this place out of the corner of my eye today after having never noticed it over the years (it's a little tucked away). Stopped in on a whim because I like checking out local spots. “This place was in walking distance of our hotel and had a variety of food in the menu. I got the meatloaf and though I don't like mushrooms the gravy was really really good so I just picked around them. You get a decent amount of food and the potatoes were delicious. I also got a Moscow mule and it was made perfectly. My server was very attentive and made sure to also give me time to enjoy my meal. Seating is decent in the inside and they also have outdoor seating.“

“We love Wakefield tavern! The food is always delicious, the service is consistently great, and the atmosphere is always upbeat. We bring our kids so it's definitely family friendly. My reason for only 4 stars is that since we are a larger family, we are often put in the huge corner booth that has missing filling in the cushions, so you are sinking into the wooden base and it's really not comfortable.“
