“First time dining in for breakfast. The food is delicious and fulfilling. Everything was cooked to perfection. My waitress was very friendly and always had a smile on her face ? she made sure glasses were filled with anything my husband and I needed she was on it . By the way, the sweet tea is so good . Good southern sweet tea I give the tea rating a 10 out of 10. You can't find many places that can make good sweet tea. I will definitely be back to try the dinner menu. I meant to get a picture of the desserts up front in the glass, but I forgot. They are hugevariety of cheese cakes, pecan pie , chocolate pies, etc. I will be trying those soon .I also came for lunch today 4/7/24 I tried the club sandwich & fries as you can see a big portion and so delicious ? I also had a chocolate fudge brownie cake with vanilla ice cream which was superb ? ? my husband and I shared this dessert. Please, everyone, if you want good food, I recommend coming here you won't be disappointed at all. Our onions rings were an appetizer to start, and you can see we had a good bit on our plate. “Absolutely loved this chicken and BBQ place. While there are many locations in central and eastern NC, this is a North Carolina original. Though it is technically a fast food restaurant, care is taken that customers receive quality customer service. Food is very fresh and flavorful. Expect authentic “down east” vinegar-based BBQ sauce with a distinctive kick. I had the dark meat “snack,” which comes with leg, thigh & one side. I went with the baked beans, and was very satisfied. These are NOT vegetarian beans, as they are laced with pork BBQ, and quite to my taste. The chicken was very tender & juicy as well. Plenty of free parking. We chose to eat outside on a picnic table, to accommodate our dog. Staff insisted on carrying our food outside, across the parking lot to the picnic table. My only suggestion for improvement would be an umbrella over the picnic tables. Two Tesla charging stations on site.“
“I went to this Waffle House last week for the first time and I was very pleased with the service. The staff was incredibly friendly and the restaurant was clean. The scrambled eggs with cheese were delicious and the sirloin steak was cooked perfectly. I will definitely be coming back to this Waffle House soon.“
“The best hidden gem around! Ms. Irene is the sweetest,& the food is ALWAYS great. I have had mostly everything she offers & it never disappoints! The amount of food you get on the plate is definitely worth the price for some good southern home-cooked food. Her cakes and pies are always amazing. Make sure to get some collards or cabbage to. Either call your order ahead of time or be prepared to wait. Mostly everything they cook is made to order. She does have specials every day and specific things already prepared, but they are usually busy. You will not be disappointed! Highly recommend“
“I've lived in Wendell for almost 5 years now and somehow never visited A&P's until a few months ago......man, I feel like I wasted a good portion of my life, the one where you find a LOCAL, privately owned and run (as in not corporate) joint where local people gather (because THEY know what's good), everyone is genuinely friendly, prices are more than reasonable, the food is awesome and portions are more than generous (today I almost couldn't finish my double cheeseburger - believe me, not because I didn't want to) and you are treated like a welcome guest.My first time (I think) Peedie, whose father was Aubrey, asked my name once and he has remembered it ever since. I used to sell for a living and I would still sometimes forgot customer's names. Not Peedie.That day I told him I loved his place and to never change it. They just don't make 'em like this anymore and WE ARE SO LUCKY to have this one right here in Wendell.“
“We are new to the area and we’re celebrating our wedding anniversary a little early. We had no reservation and walked in on a Saturday evening. Place was very busy and the only sitting available was at the bar. The service was very good. The food was excellent. We definitely will be going back, will call for a reservation next time. What a pleasant surprise to find this gem so close to our new home.“
“Oh my goodness I went there yesterday for the first time. It was such a cute little place and had delicious southern food and the sweetest people both staff and customers! I got the special of the day which was fried pork chops though I could’ve got them grilled but everything fried is better I believe ha ha, I had black-eyed peas and fried okra and it came with your choice of bread either rolls, biscuits or hush puppies and I got hush puppies so it came with three large ones and they were delicious but heck everything I had was amazing! I just hate I didn’t have room for some peach cobbler or one of the other yummy desserts. I will be going back though. And one of the sweet regulars there actually bought my food but I didn’t even know about it until after he had left so I thank him if he ever reads this/ their review/ reviews. They said that he was one of the local fireman and worked for Barnhill Contracting. So again thank you kind gentleman for buying my lunch. And I can say that after only one there once it’s already one of my favorite spots, next time I want to try breakfast though ?“
“I stop here from time to time to get gas and maybe a few snacks on my way home. Gas prices are average. There's lots of parking available. The store staff are kind of friendly...nothing to write home about. I'm able to get what I need & hit the road, so that's all I care about. I recommend this location if you need gas or to make a quick stop for snacks or lottery tickets.“
“We recently moved to Spring Hope and we are always looking for a good place to eat that Isn’t a chain . This place is fabulous. It’s small it has about 13 or 14 tables and it stayed busy for dinner . Apparently they have steaks every Friday , which looked delicious. I hear restauranttheir breakfasts are great too. Service was great even with how busy they were. Food was fresh and good . We will be back .“
“The food was very good and our waitress did a great job keeping up with our table. This is probably one of the nicer places around Zebulon if you want a proper three course meal. Although there's a lot of great restaurants in Zebulon, this one would be good for special occasions and date nights. It can be pricey if you're looking for a steak though, but that's typical.Parking: Parking lot is packed most weekends, so come early or on a off night.“
