“I celebrated my birthday at Taverna Agora, and it was an absolutely amazing experience from beginning to end! The customer service was exceptional. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure everything went smoothly. They even called several times before my reservation to confirm my guest count and seating preference, which showed how much they value preparation and customer satisfaction.

We originally requested a table on their beautiful rooftop, but after one of my guests started getting bitten by mosquitoes, we asked if we could move indoors. The staff didn’t hesitate—they quickly accommodated our request without making us feel like it was an inconvenience.

One of my favorite touches of the evening was that they kept my favorite drink coming all night without me ever having to ask twice. It made me feel truly celebrated and taken care of.

The food, atmosphere, and hospitality made my birthday one to remember. If you’re looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy a great meal with outstanding service, I can’t recommend Taverna Agora enough. “The best gluten free pizza I’ve had in NC so far. I saved my crusts for a car snack but ended up not eating them in the car, I made garlic butter croutons with them when I got home. The gf crust is sooo good.
I really appreciated getting a full size pizza that two people can share, not those tiny baby elf gf pizzas most places give you. And the cuppy pepperoni! I will definitely be back soon.“

“Great ambiance and a really nice place for drinks and appetizers. We ordered the Hummus and Patatas Bravas to start, and both were very good. For drinks, we had the Carajillo Rum Old Fashioned and Noda Radio Haze, and enjoyed both.

For the main course, we tried the Pappardelle Alla Ragu and Bucatini Con Tomate. The entrees were okay, but they didn’t stand out nearly as much as the appetizers and drinks. I was also disappointed with the vegetarian selection—there was basically only one real vegetarian entree option.

“My friend and I ordered and enjoyed a lot of food: - Pimento Cheese w/ Fried Saltines - Roasted Beets w/ Pickled Kumquat, Siano Burrata & White Balsamic-Thyme Vinaigrette - Baguette w/ Cultured Salted Butter - Crispy N.C. Shrimp w/ Marinated Newly-Dug Potatoes & Pickled Ramp Remoulade - Roasted Airline Chicken Breast w/ Herb-Scented Whipped Yukons & Smoky Triple Chicken Jus - Macaroni Au Gratin (the best I’ve ever had, at least four unique cheeses. If you don’t order this Mac ‘n Cheese, that’s your fault!) From the moment we walked in, I knew we were in for something special. The rainbow “Don’t Forget Kindness” window etchings, the upscale modern yet retro decor, the attention to detail, and then learning the history, dating back to 1945 — it’s all so impeccable! I recommend arriving a bit early as there may be a short wait (reservations are not accepted), but there is bar seating available. Upon arrival, you can add your name to the waitlist, which is a nice touch. The restaurant is consistently busy, yet always well-maintained with clean facilities. The servers are knowledgeable about the menu and go the extra mile to ensure a welcoming experience. Whether dining with friends or adults, everyone can find something appetizing on the menu. Here is what we order on our most recent visit: Karage Wings $12 Pork Belly Buns (2) $9 Kids Miso Ramen with Chicken and Eggs Grilled Chicken Rice Bowl $12 The food was delicious overall, and I particularly enjoyed the wings and the pork belly bun. A tip to keep in mind: it's best to finish the wings while you're at the restaurant. If you have any leftovers and take them home, they don't reheat well.“

The atmosphere of a restaurant can be great (this one is), the food can be great (it's pretty darned good), but a good server (she definately is) ties it all together into an experience that leaves an impression and the want to return.“

“Bad Daddy’s catering was an absolute success for our company picnic (70 guests)! The food was exceptional—the burgers had an incredible chargrill flavor, the toppings were cooked to perfection, the buns were soft and toasted, and the salad was chopped and dressed just right. The tots were seasoned well, and the chips paired with the variety of sauce options were a massive hit.

The catering trays were easy to transport, and the food stayed warm. Everything was clearly labeled, and they provided all the necessary tools and cutlery for a seamless event. The pricing was very reasonable, and the staff was helpful—they communicated clearly and went above and beyond to help us execute a great lunch.
