Uglyfish is a restaurant you'd never expect to be this good just by looking at it from the outside, but once you step inside, you quickly realize why so many people are raving about it!
I tried so many different things, including the nigiri sampler, a variety of hand rolls, sushi, tuna guac, and more. One of my favorite bites was definitely the tuna guac... it was incredibly fresh and delicious!

Don’t let the location fool you. This was a top tier sushi experience we couldn’t get enough of. Our hot plates took a little long to prepare but management came by without us asking and made up for the delay. If that doesn’t speak volumes about their hospitality I don’t know what does! I recommend the nigiri sampler and tuna tartare. Enjoy.
The specialty cuts are exceptionally curated!!! If you are looking for truly great fish 🐟 sit at the sushi bar and they will guide you to the BEST!!! WOW!!!

Uglyfish is an incredible sushi restaurant in a location you'd never expect. It is a restaurant you'd never expect to be this good just by looking at it from the outside, but once you step inside, you quickly realize why so many people are raving about it. Everything is super fresh, inventive, and perfectly dressed, and they are also great with dietary restrictions. The specialty cuts are exceptionally curated, and the itamae clearly know what they are doing. Service is extremely fast and efficient, and everything is top tier beginning to end. The selection was almost overwhelming because we wanted everything, but the server was amazing and walked us through it all. The fish was incredibly fresh, beautifully prepared, and every bite was perfectly balanced. Specific meals mentioned include the nigiri sampler, a variety of hand rolls, sushi, tuna guac, tuna tartare, and hot plates. The tuna guac was incredibly fresh and delicious. Hot plates took a little long to prepare but management came by without being asked and made up for the delay. This might be the closest to a posh West Coast sushi experience. This is a much needed spot for fresh seafood in Raleigh.
