“The owner is very knowledgeable, and the wine tasting was interesting. He selected dry wines he had made, because I don’t like sweet wines. He took his time and explained each of the dry wines. The Chardonnay and Malbec are distinctive, and I am enjoying each of the two bottles I purchased.“

“We arrived in time for lunch (brought in from Shiloh General Store), tasted a few wines with friendly staff member, Bill, met one of the owners, and purchased a chilled bottle of the 22 Tangled Oak Blanc to go with our sandwiches. Despite it being a humid day in July, we found a comfortable spot under the covered area of the patio downstairs and overlooking the pond to eat. It was not uncomfortably hot although I do look forward to returning this fall if not before.“

“We liked our visit, the staff were very friendly, but not really good. Had a nice selection of both wine and beer on tap. However, they never remembered the name on our tab or what we were drinking. They took a while to get your order and they looked genuinely surprised that you wanted to order a drink. They would let you stand at the bar take your glass and act as if getting another beer or glass of wine was something they were unaccustomed to. Each time you walked up to get another drink they would just look at you say hi and then stand around until you explicitly indicated you needed something. They would then forget your oder act like they couldn't find your name on the tab, (they do take and hold on to your card while you are there), and eventually get you a drink. Please dont take it the wrong way, they were super friendly and wanted to talk and take care of you its just they wanted to talk to each other more than getting you a drink. I would just hate to see them when they were busy. Please keep in mind we were the only customers they had. I will say they have excellent bathrooms, they were large, spacious and very clean. They also have a large covered patio area, large enough for 15-20 people to comfortably sit and hangout. They had plenty of seating inside and several tables with umbrellas and a fire pit outside. They have some hiking trails as well, we did not get to walk the trails due to rain.“

“Worth a trip back again. We learned so much from their distillery tour and tasting. Dana had so much knowledge and a quick wit. It was hard not to walk out without a bottle of each type of amazing spirits. Next time we come we will hit up the vineyard tasting room to enjoy a second experience.“

“If you’re serious about great wine, this is where you want to go in NC. A little over an hour’s drive from Charlotte, the vineyard and grounds are so beautiful and offer a bird’s eye view of Pilot Mountain.
The winery offers dining, a host of special events, and an optional wine club membership including quarterly wine club parties.
This is by far the best NC wine, I’ve had since I moved here 17 years ago.“

“the wines were very good. The Riesling was our favorite. We brought some food from the Italian restaurant right up the road from the vineyard. We also took our dogs with us, they brought water out for them and were happy to have them there. We didn't purchase any but they did have some cheese and snacks that you can buy. we will definitely go back if we're in the area again.“
