4 Best Craft Breweries near Southern Pines

Southern Pines Brewing Company on Pennsylvania Brewery • $$
205 W Pennsylvania Ave, Southern Pines

“This is the best brewery in southern pines, no questions asked. Rotating menu of beers on tap and I don’t know of any that our friends and family haven’t loved. I’m not a huge beer drinker so I love that they almost always have a seltzer, cider, and slushee drink on tap as well. Dog friendly both indoors and outdoors. They do various trivia and other events throughout the week as well. The staff are friendly and fun. This is always the first place we take friends and family when they visit and it always delivers.“

Southern Pines Brewing Company Brewery • $$
565 Air Tool Dr E, Southern Pines

“Classic brewery bar front. They have a lot of beers on tap as well as cans. They fill growlers for you to enjoy at home. I had the Malty by Nature a Scottish red ale it was a good beer. The wife had the Salted caramel macchiato stout she found her beer for life. It's a strong stout and one can was all she needed or wanted. We left with a four pack.It seems off the beaten path but it's actually close to downtown“

Railhouse Brewery Brewery • $$

“I love the military support!Great atmosphere, decor was a little confused about its vision but still cool.Beers were solid. The BBA Thiic Stout was AMAZING, the blood orange IPA was very nice. The vanila porter and the oatmeal stout fell a little flat but they were still good. Be warned about their Hazy IPA- they warn you about the bitterness and they are not lying!Extensive food menu for what we were expecting from a brewery- cheese curds were very good.Kitchen clearly cooks from scratch, get your orders in ASAP if you arrive hungry.Indoor and outdoor seating. Good amount of parking.Beer and liquor options. Sports ball on the TV but thankfully there was music on and the commentary was (mostly) muted. The bartender was lackluster, unfortunately. Sweatpants to work is not something I’d allow for if this were my place, and I do expect my staff to greet people a bit faster - which he did… if he already knew your name- a greeting and a drink order and poured before he’d bother to look back at his bar top guests that he hadn’t checked in on in a few minutes- so great with the regulars, which we were not. He wasn’t very fast and honestly, just not welcoming enough for us to go out of our way to stop in the next time we are in town. Hopefully that is just us catching him on an off day, but if I were the owner, I’d rather know how to improve the ambiance than someone not express it.“
