“While the Ice Cream Parlor wasn’t our first choice for a quick bite to eat, we were pleasantly surprised.A cute corner building off the main streets of Southern Pines, which sports a bright and fun atmosphere that appeals to all ages, would be the perfect spot during the warmer months to stop for a sweet treat.Upon entering the building, we acquired a table that had just been vacated, and a worker immediately came over to wipe off the table before we could get settled in.The food menu was extensive, despite my first impression of it being an ice cream shop, and there were about 20 different flavors of ice cream to choose from.We both ordered the All the Way hotdog, minus the slaw for mine, and it was cooked perfectly. My husband had his with the slaw, and he commented that it was the best hot dog he’s had in a long time. I also ordered the Coffeehouse Cookies and Cream milkshake, which was blended to a smooth consistency that could easily be sucked through a straw. Everything was delivered promptly to the table by the friendly employees. We were there at about 5:15 on a Tuesday, which seemed to be a sweet spot for quick service. It was only a few minutes after we arrived that the lobby was full of families.Since I only had two items, I only gave four stars, but I would love to go back and try out other food options and ice cream flavors. If you need something quick and simple, this is the place to go!Parking: A few spots were available during the time we were there, a Tuesday evening; however I could see it being more difficult on the weekends to find parking without having a short walk.Kid-friendliness: Fun and bright atmosphere that’s appealing to all ages. The music was mostly appropriate (no curse words or extremely explicit phrases), but there was an occasional song I was surprised to hear. I assume it was a random playlist from Spotify or radio station.“

My Frozen Yogurt Creation

“This shop is one of our favorites. Lots of choices of frozen yogurt, including numerous dairy free and low sugar options. They also have some (sometimes only one) sugar free selections, and the weight watchers points is listed on all. The toppings bar/row/area is huge with options we don't see often. When it was time to check out, the employee on duty was friendly and efficient. When she wasn't helping customers, she never stopped moving. The shop was spotless, the yogurt stations all worked, and the tables all wiped clean. She maintained this standard, even though there was a steady stream of people coming in, and no doubt a mass on the way as schools were letting out. My daughter is always delighted that Christian muzak plays in the background. It's loud enough to hum along but soft enough to carry on a conversation.I'm a sugar free cheesecake with strawberries and graham crackers and my daughter likes to try new flavors each time and top it with boba and Nerds.“

“Once upon a whimsical day in the enchanted land of Freddy's, a delightful assembly of characters gathered at the heart of the magical Concrete Kingdom. Chocolate Custard Ice Cream, the velvety protagonist, set the stage with its rich and creamy presence.Enter Reese's Pieces, the playful rebels with a crunchy exterior and a peanut butter heart, danced into the scene, bringing a burst of excitement. Marshmallow Sauce, the sweet dreamer, floated in on a cloud of fluffiness, spreading joy with every swirl. Peanut Butter Sauce, the smooth operator, smoothly slid into the tale, adding a nutty twist to the ensemble. But lo and behold, Hot Fudge, the bold adventurer, erupted into the narrative with a warm, gooey embrace, creating a thrilling climax to their whimsical journey. As the characters intertwined in a delicious dance, their flavors harmonized, creating a symphony of sweetness that echoed through the Concrete Kingdom. In the end, they found themselves in the awaiting vessel, a golden cup ready to capture the essence of their fantastical union. With a swirl of magic and a sprinkle of enchantment, the Freddy's Concrete was born, a masterpiece of chocolate custard dreams, Reese's rebellion, marshmallow fantasies, peanut butter charm, and hot fudge adventures. And so, the tale concluded with the delighted slurps and satisfied smiles of those who ventured to taste the magic, savoring the whimsical journey of Freddy's Concrete until not a trace remained, except for the lingering taste of a happily ever after.“
