There was a teen birthday party near us and the place was hopping on a beautiful day in the 70's so it was pretty loud. Padded buffers inside the booths would likely help with this. They were out of the first2 things we tried to order so that was disappointing. We were seated at 1:15 so you might want to get there earlier for access to full menu. It's good to know if you have someone with mobility challenges: there were 2 handicap spaces fairly close to the front but all others were abit away. There is no way to drop off an elderly person fairly close to the door. Options are either quite a few stairs OR a long ramp. If there are other options, I didn't see it. The food was fresh and delicious and the menu was creative and thoughtful as compared to other places in the area. We were celebrating a birthday and received a thoughtful card but no discount or free dessert as with other places. Brunch specials change each week and they all sounded good.“

“Incredible! So many gluten free options, marked clearly on the menu. And FANTASTIC gluten free key lime pie! The owner, Nelson, made sure we knew how much they cared about making an affordable and safe GF dining experience. Loved the ambience and the food; the burger was one of the best I've ever had and the gf bun was soooo fluffy! They give you a FREE cookie at the end and the gf cookie was actually soft and not crumbly. I cried a little I was so excited. I will be back!“

“I’m pretty sure it is under new management. Whenever I stop there for breakfast to get my liver mush, egg, cheese, slice of tomato on a bun, it is always delicious. Service is fast, everyone behind the counter is always friendly even when they are busy. On Wednesdays they offer choices of fish sandwich or fish combo plates that are reasonably priced and will satisfy your appetite. I definitely recommend if you are in the area.“

“As guests of the motel upstairs, it was awesome to find out that there was not only on site dining but live music for both nights of our stay. The restaurant is casual enough to dock and dine but also very welcoming to a family looking to spend a nice night out together. Both nights the music was awesome and enjoyed by all young and older. The food was really tasty. The menu has basic options but we went for the Caribbean inspired dishes. Service was kind, drinks were strong, vibe was perfect and prices are very reasonable.“

Monday night is half price smash burgers , the freedom burger is my favorite, and they donate $1for each burger sold to the Freedom Fund which helps veterans tremendously ! This scratch kitchen sports tavern is fantastic. 48 giant televisions and a giant HD projector makes this an ideal place to watch your favorite sporting event! Especially the Super Bowl! They are giving away prizes each quarter of the game and a lucky guest will win free wings for a year, and wow the wings are phenomenal. The service is consistently excellent, and they have food and drink specials , and an excellent draft beer selection. What an amazing dining destination!

“I love my neighborhood Culver's in Mooresville (it's the closest to where I live). This restaurant has one of the best fish sandwiches I've ever eaten! Mama Katie’s is hands down one of the best breakfast spots I’ve been to in a long time. It has that perfect blend of homestyle cooking and diner-style comfort that’s hard to find in the Cornelius area. We actually drove out here because there just aren’t any true diners nearby, and it was absolutely worth it.

I ordered the Backwoods Benedict — a biscuit with sausage, poached egg, and country gravy on top (you get two of them) — and it was amazing. I also got hash browns with onions and cheese added, and they were cooked perfectly. The French toast was delicious, my girlfriend’s omelet was great, and everything tasted fresh and hearty. The bacon was probably the weakest part of the meal (about a 6.5/10), but it was still decent. Everything else was easily an 8–9/10.

The portions are generous — one of those meals where you clean your plate and then want to go home and nap. The service was friendly and attentive, about an 8/10, and the overall experience was easily a solid 9/10. Prices were very reasonable for the amount of food we got.

The outside doesn’t look like much (it’s in what looks like an office-style building), so don’t let that fool you. Once you’re inside, the food and atmosphere definitely give you that family-style, diner feel.

If you’re looking for hearty, delicious breakfast food that feels like home, Mama Katie’s is the place. We’ll definitely be coming back, and I’d recommend it to anyone who wants that diner-style comfort without having to drive too far.“
