“My first time here on Wednesday. I heard so many good reviews about this place and they were all true. It was a bustling restaurant and reminded me of home. I ordered the scramble but I had my eggs fried. It was flavorful, perfectly presented, and enough for a to-go box. I was by myself and yet, my server did not neglect my coffee cup amid the full house. I will always want to return for the tasty breakfast and the warm atmosphere.“
“Awesome place to eat, I am part of their delivery personal, they have ALWAYS treated me with the upmost respect and they are a down home country kitchen that's for sure, and their honey bun cake is absolutely amazing if you aint been there to get a piece your missing out, it hands down by far the best dessert ive ever eatten“
“Small town restaurant go to for your bar-b-que and smoked meats. Bar-b-que chopped was moist perfect amount of sloppy the bread wasn't soggy and topped with in house made BBQ sauce and BBQ slaw. I wanted smoked chicken half or quarter and had asked about the chicken plate but the clerk didn't really elaborate. Great choice and worth the drive.“
“This is easily the best food I've had in the Newton area. I tried the "officer Burger" which is a burger topped with AWOL Cajun seasoning (their own blend?) Bacon House made pimento cheese and a honey sauce. This burger played so well together! The sweetness from the honey cuts what richness the pimento cheese has to offer in the best way possible! Cajun seasoning is not overwhelming or too spicy either! All that goodness is between a nice soft brioche bun, what could be better!? An absolute must try! The fries were giving off some serious "rally" vibes, unfortunately my fries were room temperature. But my waitress was sure to ask if I'd like them re cooked. Overall I'd not only suggest this place, but I'll be going back myself! Their menu is packed full of delicious looking items. And while I was there I found out that a portion of the profits go to help veterans!!Kid-friendliness: My 5 year old got the burger and fries and absolutely loved it! Great portion sizes too!“
“I like my wings cooked a certain way they took care of it. Exactly the way I wanted it!Dietary restrictions: They accommodated my nut allergy issue for my salad! Also provide me the best wings ever as I had ordered! They also told me my wings to be a certain way and I accepted that, but then they told me they did them a different way and they were completely amazing!!“
“I'm with a lot of the other reviews. Over priced much....... got the Gumbo. If you're going to serve someone Half of the container maybe put it in a smaller container so the customer doesn't feel jipped. The Gumbo was very flavorful with the right amount of spice. But 1 small scoop of rice..... rice is very inexpensive and they put it in a huge container to make it seem even smaller. $17 for a lunch. Nope“
“I'm being honest here...several reasons this place gets 5 stars. For one, the food is fresh and made to order. You can tell! The servings are nice and worth the price. You don't have to break the bank here. I will for SURE be back!! Look at this plating...“
“First trip to Parkway House in a while, good to see things were chugging along busy as ever. Excellent waitress, pleasant and attentive. Food was the same good quality. Everything was clean or being cleaned. So if you're an original Springs Road native like me or just don't want to change out of your work clothes and desire to go somewhere unassuming, good food at a good price is waiting for you at Parkway House.Parking: Unload and reload right up front.Wheelchair accessibility: Sidewalk same level as parking lot, go right in through 2 glass doors (not automatic).“
“Enjoyed our lunch there so much. The servers were extremely nice. The food was delicious, and there were great choices for both vegans and non vegans alike. Best homemade potato salad I've had at a restaurant.Although we did not have beer this time, they had an amazing selection, including local Brews. It's a little dark when you first come in from the outside, but other than that, I have nothing negative to say at all. The“
“The service is wonderful & everyone is so friendly. Most of the food is what you'd expect of a pub, some a little more creative, all absolutely delicious, & portions are very large. The mixed drinks are very well made. Everything is reasonably priced. The ambiance is cool both in & outside. The location is completely unexpected. I lived right up the street from this place for a good while without even knowing it, and the game nights are super fun so we will definitely be making lots of return trips!!“
“The Boxcar Grille is a staple in the Claremont community and in Catawba County. The food is good. The best part is the salad bar. The service is decent. You may have to wait a little bit. But the wait staff is always nice. The atmosphere is top notch, and they have remodeled somethings which has given it a fresh look.“
“You have a host there by the name of Patrick he is extremely rude and mouthy and very disrespectful he should be fired he works at the cracker barrel in hickory nc and if I was the manager there I would not tolerate it and fire him immediately“
“Love this Longhorn. They are very accurate in their wait times. The food always comes out hot and delicious. The service is amazing as most of the servers have worked there for a long time. Everyone is very kind and professional. The manager Katie goes above and beyond to making my child feel special. We go here at least two weekends out of the month and prefer this restaurant over any other steak house near by.“
“The hostesses were lacking. Came at lunch time on Thursday and there were two of them. It was difficult to get an answer out of them other than a 20-minute wait. We finally said okay and we waited. My questions were about outside or were there enough tables in the back that we would be seated in a timely manner. They could not comprehend our questions. They were very young.“
“Excellent spot in downtown Hickory. I really enjoy eating lunch here when I am in the Hickory area. Excellent salads and sandwiches. The beer selection is good too. I live in Charlotte. So, I pass on the beer, but it is great lunch spot with or without an adult beverage.“
“Came here on a Wednesday for wing night special. I had part teriyaki and part buffalo wings. Service was good and the wings were delicious. Also they had a DJ and we played music bingo. My son won a hat and a 10.00 gift card. Most likely will go back!Parking: Very little street parking. We parked in the back in a dark lot and came in the back door. Back door you walk by the grease trap and the stuff you usually don’t see at a restaurant. I felt it was not ideal.Kid-friendliness: Kids seemed very welcome here. Had food for kids as well.“
“My partner and I were promptly seated in a spacious booth. The atmosphere pleasant to the senses, wasnt crowded or noisy, with a comfortable temperature. The cosmopolitan and IPA arrived quickly with a tall glass of iced water. The potato skins appetizer, which followed shortly thereafter, was average. Our meals..my meal consisted of a crunchy fresh wedge salad with a deliciously chunky blue cheese dressing and chunks of blue cheese, and a perfectly cooked baked potato. My partner had a chicken sandwich with broccoli, which didn't last long. He said the chicken was cooked perfectly tender and tasty with toppings he requested, the broccoli was steamed. Our waitress, was friendly and knowledgeable, but not bothersome. Excellent service.“
“This place makes you feel like you’re eating at your Southern grandmother’s house. And they charge old school prices too. So reasonable! Chicken is perfectly crispy, juicy, and gently seasoned. Sides are simple, homey, and authentic. If you can’t go to your granny’s house for dinner, go here. You’ll be glad you did.“
“My children and I ate here today. Upon coming in, in which I'm Very observing. The young lady whom was supposed to serve us loudly said that she didn't want us. Therefore, another lady chose to serve us, she told me upon check out that her daughter went to Carrowinds today. God Bless her and everything that she touches. We're all people made by Father God, we All bleed red and couldn't do Anything without Him, our Creator! God Bless her, and I was obedient to Him, and I tipped her 20 dollars!!!! She derived it....????“
“This is hands down my favorite restaurant in Hickory. Not only is the food delicious, but the owner has gone out of her way to offer an entire menu to people like myself who cannot have gluten. Going to a restaurant nowadays and looking to see if anything is gluten free is always a toss up. Charlie Granger's is the only place where I can come and feel like I can order as a normal person. Getting a burger and fries may not seem like a big deal, but for someone like me who usually can't do it, eating at Charlie Grangers's is a dream come true. All the food is delicious regardless if it's gluten free or not. My wife loves the shrimp burger, and my in laws love the hot dogs. So give this place a try. It's an absolute 10/10Dietary restrictions: Gluten free“
“Fish camp atmosphere. Staff is friendly, hushpuppies are always fresh and hot. Good variety of options and the new menu (2024) offers additional seafood options. The daily specials do not disappoint. Order baby shrimp and you can feed a small army, the portions are so generous!“
“I visited Don's Grill for the first time a few days ago. The atmosphere is very homey and cozy. The staff was really friendly and checked on our needs often! The food is very tasty and comes out piping hot and exactly as ordered, which is fantastic. There are a lot of options and there are different daily specials to choose from. The milkshakes are wonderfully thick and come in a wide variety of flavors! You can dine in or call in an order and pick it up at the window or you can order at the window and wait for your order. I will definitely be back.Kid-friendliness: It is just a friendly and relaxed place.“
“My family member invited me to join them for lunch at Backstreets. Despite growing up here, I never knew this restaurant existed until now! I was hesitant at first to try it out because they didn’t have many vegan options. Actually, the only Vegan item I really found was the Asian Kale Salad. Needless to say, I’m happy I did decide to go because that salad was fabulous! It was very large and the flavors in the salad played a tune on my taste buds! Bouncing back and forth between sweet, savory, crunchy, and a hint of spice from the sriracha on the sides… It was the perfect balance for a perfect salad! My husband got the chicken fajita wrap, and he really really enjoyed it. He said it was one of the best wraps he’s had in a long time. My son who is a picky eater REALLY liked his burger, but wasn’t a big fan of the Macaroni and cheese. My husband was though, so take his word for it tasting fresh and made from scratch! My family chimed in and said the grilled chicken is perfection, that’s why they enjoy it as the protein on their salads. We came around lunch time on a week day, and there WAS a wait, but we waited around 10 minutes before we were seated, so that’s not too bad. Once seated and we placed our orders, our food didn’t take very long at all to arrive at the table. The waitresses were very accommodating! If it came to a chain restaurant or Backstreets, I’d definitely choose this place any time. I hope to see that they add more vegetarian and vegan options to their menu soon! If so, I’d become a regular myself! Dishes are around $10-$15 per person depending on what you order. It isn’t exactly a one cash sign establishment, but in this case, it’s a good price to pay if you’re looking for a flavorful dish. On top of that, you’re supporting a small business with a ton of culinary talent! I’d hate for anyone to miss out on that!“
“I got a double cheeseburger all the way and wow it was ridiculously good! Honestly the best burger I think I've had in Catawba county, super cheesy and not so loaded with other stuff that you couldn't taste the meat. I haven't been in over a decade, but I will certainly be going back often!“
“I had always wanted to try out the WL so I asked a co-worker to meet me there. It was a very Comfortable & Enjoyable Environment and I look forward to going back when I need a little bit of calming down from the workday - I would be comfortable going alone and visiting with the nice people at the bar.“
“My son and I had a good breakfast here at Sigmon's Grill. The service was fast, the staff was friendly, and the food was good. Thanks, Debbie Joe Rolls for for Benning a great sever. I am so glad we decided to stop here, we will be back, we have two more meals to try.“
“Windy City Grill (aka Homers) is a cozy little restaurant that sits on highway 127 in the Viewmont neighborhood of Hickory, NC. This is a must go to place when you are in town. They offer a variety of options or you can go for breakfast and get a livermush, egg, and cheese ? or you can go for lunch and get one of their famous cheeseburgers. You can go through the drive thru or you can go inside and sit at a booth or sit at the counter and be waited on. Personally, I prefer to go inside and sit at the counter. It's a more personal experience. The employees here are top notch. They are super friendly and very polite. I guess you can say that this is a good ole hometown diner. Please, if you're in town visiting Hickory, stop by and grab a burger at Windy City Grill. You won't be disappointed. ?Parking: There's about 6-8 spots in the front, but there are a few more in the rear of the building.“
“I've been going to Golden Corral for many years now they also have an app where every time you eat there you get 20 points after 5 meals you get $10 offParking: It's got a big open parking lot also plenty of handicap parking spacesKid-friendliness: It's a kid friendly place where the kids themselves can go and serve themselvesWheelchair accessibility: Usually all golden corrals are welfare accessible at least all the ones I have been to“
“I believe you can only get better with honest feedback. My wife and I celebrated her birthday there tonite. The waitress, Brittany couldn’t have done a better job!! We both had the trout with blue crab. The dish itself was delicious but it was BURIED in a creamy sauce. The sauce was good but it takes away from the trout & crab flavors. A lot less sauce would severely improve the dish. The spinach/goat cheese side salad was perfectly proportioned and awesome. We chose the calamari appetizer. Not the best choice. It was heavily breaded, greasy, and over cooked to the point of being inedible…tough, tough, tough! Wed night wine was 50% off…nice surprise! Dinner was good but not close to the caliber we had come to expect from this establishment. I hope this helps them improve…“
“This was a 50th Birthday dinner, and was amazing. Chef Mansour created a menu second to none. The dining room was elegant and inviting. He sat and talked with us between courses, and truly made us feel like family. Highly recommend, and will be back often…“
“Fourk is a staple in our restaurant rotation in Hickory. However, it had been quite a while since we visited. The service was a little slow to start. We were given water and menus, and then we waited for 15-20 minutes before our appetizer order was taken. We ordered the Buffalo meatballs and the mussels. They arrived at our table quickly, and both were tasty. Our table ordered the Mahi, orzo chicken, and the seafood melange. All three dishes were really good. For dessert, we had the blackberry wine cake (a MUST for anyone visiting Fourk), and the cheesecake of the day. The blackberry wine cake was fantastic. The cheesecake was very good, too. We will visit Fourk again soon if for nothing other than that blackberry wine cake.“
“Open early, which is great for me (6am), and service is fast with a smile. Sweet tea is about perfect, and even though the food comes out really fast, it's really fresh and hot. This omelet and hashbrowns could feed 2 people, half came home with me and was just as good a couple hours later.“
“I have been to this place twice the service and food is always excellent. They put a unique Twist on the foods that they serve. They also have a y selection of craft beers on tap and in cans. Definitely recommend trying the pizza, tacos, and onion rings. Heck, try it all they have a great menu.“
“This is the most amazing restaurant, the most friendly staff with excellent food options, everything we have tried so far has been outstanding- Evan and Will have both been our server on multiple occasions and are always very attentive and treat us like family. I cannot forget to mention Tara the bar manager who remembers our drinks each visit , and Lidia who takes care front of the house and Jamie is a fantastic manager. Me and my wife have both worked in restaurants for years, good staff is hard to find and they have it!!!! THIS PLACE IS FAMILY !!!“
“I was lucky to get a tee time on 04/13/2023 after a mess up at GolfNow and found a tee time at Player's Ridge. i really enjoyed the layout. the course is set up well and very enjoyable. Some of the greens did not fair to well after the winter. I hope they come back soon. I will be back to play it later this summer once the grass comes in. The staff was very pleasant and quite friendly. I wish I lived closer to play it more often. it has a potential for a great course if a little more money was invested in the course it would be outstanding.“
“Olde Hickory Tap Room is located in Union Square in Downtown Hickory. I dined here on a Sunday so parking was easy as the area wasn't too busy. When I arrived the host immediately sat me at a booth and didn't try to seat me at the bar which tends to be common places. My waitress was as friendly as could be. I went with the sirloin steak; fries and salad. The sirloin was ok but I usually order another cut of meat that is leaner but that wasn't on the menu here. The salad was larger than expected so I didn't finish the meal but I rarely do. I was given both a to- go box and a tea to go. I almost returned for dinner here later in the week but then wandered around and ended up at their other restaurant at the train station.“
“I took my family to Fresh Chef because the food was supposed to be healthy. I wasn't impressed. The pasta had way too much sauce on it & the small amount of kale was mixed into it. The salmon was good & I liked the chef's salad. They don't serve tea & that's my preference for drink so I had lemon water. My granddaughter liked the hamburger. My daughter liked the fresh fries. Might night go back.“
“We had their new chicken sandwich it was suppose to have blue cheese crumbs, but had blue cheese salad dressing on it instead. They had it so cold in there that the fries were hot when they came out, but got cold right away. We also ordered chips and salsa. The chips were so greasy that you could not eat them and stock together. Everyone was sending them back and still getting charged for them. These are what the chips looked like.“
“This is a wonderful culinary addition to an area plagued by bland franchise restaurants that cater to the country music crowds. A sophisticated dining experience with wine and a bar, that serves delicious, reasonably priced dishes with excellent service.“
“The blonde lady that cooks on the night shift, is a very good cook and a sweet person. We came in Tuesday night and the food was amazing. She even cut up our dogs food we ordered to take with us. We came in over the weekend but she wasn’t here ? the food was ok but not like hers. lol I think she spoiled us. Thank you to the blonde cook on the night shift for making our visit a great one. We will definitely be back and next time I will get your name.“
“Got a real good breakfast here, and let me tell you the grits were in what I call a chili pot I'm talking eight quarts! It was on a double boiler so they didn't get ruined. Good coffee good food and wonderful ladies running this place and serving the customers here!“
