“Hot Shots Espresso is one of those places you get excited about the moment you see where they’re setting up. I love keeping an eye on their page just to find their coffee truck, it’s always worth the stop. They have some of the best chai in town, and their dirty chai is so good, truly one of my favorites. But beyond the coffee, it’s the people that make this place special. They are the sweetest couple, always welcoming, always kind, and genuinely happy to connect. I love chatting with them, and they are so great with my kids, which means everything to me. Great coffee, great vibes, and really beautiful humans behind it. If you see the Hot Shots Espresso truck, do yourself a favor and go get a cup. You won’t regret it. ☕️“

“Early Sunday AM I needed 3 gallons of tea. The workers had arrived at 4 AM to open at 5:00 AM. It was a bit after 7 AM. They were cheerful and so polite. 2 gallons were ready but a 3rd gallon needed to be made. It happens so quickly that I did not feel like I had to wait at all. Thank you for serving our community so well. May God bless each and every one of you as you continue to work hard and bless us with good food, beverages and treats…..all served with kindness!“

Despite the bustle, the staff remained composed and welcoming. I was greeted with big smiles, and when it was my turn to order, I was treated with patience and attention. I gave the barista the freedom to create something special, and she took the time to craft a drink that would delight my taste buds, rather than simply preparing a standard coffee to get me out the door. “I went here on a whim for a caffeine pick up on my way through hickory. It was an amazing treat to be able to find this coffee shop and get a drink from here. The staff were very friendly and helpful with the menu. The shop itself was very clean and welcoming. Walking in felt cozy and relaxed. The customer base they have build along with just the way the staff interaction is very telling on how kind and welcoming of a shop this is.

The coffee I ordered was a basic vanilla blended latte with added whip cream to the suggestion of the sweet lady that took my order. The vanilla they used was SO GOOD! And the whipped cream was amazing! I didn’t know a simple blended drink good be so tasty. The coffee used in the drink was very good and not bitter whatsoever. When waiting on my drink, another order was being placed and the way the gentleman made sure to ask the preferences of the customers drink, to make sure the drink was made to the customers liking, rather than just shelling out a drink, was amazing to see. From being here for the 6 minutes I was, I could see this shop cares to make tasty drinks enjoyed by the customers who order them.

I will definitely be coming back when traveling through hickory again. And anyone coming through hickory needing a pick me up of some coffee should visit here too!“

“Absolutely could not say enough great things about JD’s! A few weeks before my wedding, we had multiple catering options fall through. JD’s saved the day, making food to feed my almost 100 people guest list. It was ready on time for pickup. Food was hot, delicious, & fairly priced. Best bbq in town, we’ll definitely be back!“
