“Absolutely Phenomenal Chinese Dining Experience!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
New Szechuan is hands down one of the best Chinese restaurants I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting, not just in Winston-Salem but anywhere! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by the incredible aroma of authentic Chinese spices and dishes cooking in the kitchen. It’s enough to make your mouth water before you even sit down.
The food here is nothing short of spectacular. Every dish is crafted with such authenticity that it feels like a trip to the heart of China. The menu is extensive, offering a wide variety of dishes to satisfy every craving—whether you’re a fan of spicy Szechuan specialties or prefer something milder like their stir-fried noodles or dumplings. I highly recommend their Kung Pao Chicken and Ma Po Tofu—absolutely bursting with flavor!
What really stands out is how affordable everything is. You can get a feast for a very reasonable price, which is rare these days for food of this quality. And let me tell you about the service—it’s lightning-fast! I couldn’t believe how quickly our dishes were brought out, steaming hot and ready to enjoy. The staff is so friendly and attentive, making the experience even better.
Another huge plus is the parking. There’s plenty of it, so you never have to stress about finding a spot, even during busy times. This is a huge win for anyone who knows how tricky parking can get in Winston-Salem.

“My experience at Jade Garden Chinese restaurant was simply outstanding! The food was exquisite, especially the sesame chicken—it was hands down the best I've ever had. The service was equally exceptional; the lady at the counter was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Without a doubt, this is now my go-to spot for Chinese cuisine in Winston Salem. Highly recommended!“

“This was our second time eating here. Both times the service was a little off. Items ordered but not delivered even after asking again. Celebrations happen very frequently. An average of four times during both of our visits. The celebrations are done with a giant firework lit at the table (not ours but all around us). The smoke in the air from all those fireworks gets super heavy in such a small space. The food is always amazing at least“

“This restaurant used to be our favorite. Since the new owners came, everything has gone down hill. The egg rolls are smaller and filled with more rice than anything else. The fried rice is just tan rice with nothing else added. Any dish that is served with vegetables, now expect the veggies to be served raw - uncooked with a sauce over them. The thinly sliced chicken has a lot of fat and gristle. Even the hot tea (overpriced) has a different taste. The last 2 times I ordered the Egg Fu Yung - I was really sick afterwards. If I ever go back I will just order noodle soup with no vegetables or chicken. The waitresses are very nice but I worry about what goes on in the kitchen. Their sanitary rating is low so the kitchen can't be too clean. There are other Chinese restaurants in the area that we will be trying.“

“I've ordered both online (for delivery) and in person. Both times the food was delicious, and plenty to eat. I am so happy that the Jade Express has come to Winston-Salem. The lady that served me the other day was an absolute joy.

“Not a place to dine in if you are looking for romance or a night out. HOWEVER! The take out is perfect. The dumplings were exceptional, fresh and a good serving. I ordered egg drop soup and it was spot on. No pets or carrots- exactly how I had hoped.
I only ordered appetizers to take home and eat since it was late for a big meal. But I'm sure to give them a try. It is a family run business. Supporting small local businesses in Walnut cove.“

“This used to be my favorite place on the nights when cooking was not an option. But sometimes the workers can be a little unfriendly and slightly hostile. Although the food is great the service can really put a damping on the overall experience. And even though I have moved in to another restaurant I still like to get a meal from this establishment every now and again. Like with everywhere else the prices have definitely increased over time but it still worth the great taste of the food. I would give this 4.5 rating but it doesn't do a half star so I'll go ahead with a 5 star rating. Not to mention the hours are great for those who may work late.

“I came inside to order the wing & fry special along with an egg roll, & donuts. The man who took my order was super friendly & had my wings fried hard as I had requested them. Usually, when I order from Chinese restaurants the fries are lackluster, but at this establishment they were HOT, well salted, & crispy. I can’t wait to order here again.“

“Everyone I've encountered here is very helpful and friendly. The food is consistently fresh and tasty. This has become my favorite lunch spot.
Parking: The parking lot is very small and is only one way so you need to turn around.
Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly

“I called at 8:45pm. And they close at 9pm. They had no problem getting me fresh food incredibly fast, as along as I could get there before 9pm. Everything tasted wonderful (2 pork eggs rolls, 1 pt of Hot & Sour Soup, House Chop Suey, House Mei Fun, and Shrimp Lo Mein). I am so pleased with their customers service. I will definitely be back.“

“I really enjoy dining here, this is a regular spot for my husband and I. We have also had our family and friends try Peking as well, and they enjoy it too! Great tasting food, very welcoming and charming staff. They are great in making food according to my food allergies/sensitivities (mushroom allergy) as well which is really awesome, because most Chinese restaurants will just pick out the mushrooms in dishes I order that happen to have it, not understanding that I will have anaphylaxis with any contact) and they wash everything that is used in creating the dishes I order. They are fantastic and I do love them. They are like family! ??
Vegetarian options: All you have to do is tell them what you would like vegetarian.
Dietary restrictions: Any food allergies or restrictions are usually accommodated (I haven't ever had them not accommodate me)
Parking: Lots of spots in the parking lot, it's in the same shopping center as Burlington coat factory, Joanns, and kickback Jack's“

“I had never ordered from this location, but I have heard how good their selections were, and Babee, this was not just a rumor, the Chinese food is hitting! Best Chinese food that I have ever eaten in Winston Salem! I ordered the General Tso, and it was enough food to eat off of for 2 days, price was terrific, only 12.00. I will return again and again! You can also pre-order!Downside: There are a lot of beggars walking around they are not aggressive, just ignore them!I am a Food Critic!“

“We use to live in NC and would come here once a week. Their rice noodles are great! Honestly, if they had a fancy looking brick and mortar they could charge 3 times the price because all of their food is so good. I am a very picky Chinese food person. We now live in SC and every time we visit NC we make sure to go here. The comments about tasteless or bad food could not be further from the truth. Their food is always high quality, I have never purchased something from this location that wasn’t amazing!“

“I haven't been back in NC for a while, but I worked and ate here for a whole year. I recommend the curry chicken (medium spicy). Food was always quick to make it to the table, the folks running the place treated me very well, and the prices were competitive. Give them a shot. They're a great family, and the food is good too.“

“I ordered take out. I called ahead and gave them about 10 minutes. My order was ready when I got there. Very quick & efficient. Excellent food also. I got the General Tso's chicken combo with pork fried rice and an egg roll. It was all delicious. I'll be back!“

“Was feeling hungry and didn't have time to cook so I ordered from here for the first time. The online ordering was fast and easy to do, when I got there the food came out earlier than promised, and the staff was super friendly! After trying the food I realized I had to leave a review, because this is the best food from a Chinese restaurant I've ever had. Fast, friendly, delicious!
Dietary restrictions: While I didn't order anything from the diet menu, I was impressed they had low sodium and non oily options for those that need them.“
