“Fantastic beer. I had a fascinating conversation with the owner who had a refreshing take on his profession. Very down to earth guy with immense knowledge and passion. Visiting Outsider was a highlight of my time spent in Asheville. If you're in town, go pay a visit. You will not be disappointed.“
“Good reset from the last place and on its way to becoming a neighborhood favorite. Back to being just a brewery, the has a good selection of English and German styles. Good bar with comfy seats and tables with chairs. Good outside seating with picnic tables. Worth a visit!“
“First time here and we came for brunch! Very friendly staff and quick service! I ordered the shrimp and grits and my boyfriend had the bread pudding waffle and chicken. Both were impeccable. And they did not skimp on the shrimp in the grits! That creole sauce on top of the dish was chefs kiss. Can’t wait to come here again!“
“Great local brewery with a welcoming atmosphere and kind souls. Sweet outdoor corner stage with live music living in the air. Iron and oak bbq available most days until they sell out and they will. Stop in and have a quick one. Belgians are my personal goto with the hazy ipa a close second. This is a local community vibe type of hang out and I will continue to find this place when I need a minute to just be.Ps: Wednesday night blue grass jam should charge admission the folks are so good.. And don't skip Brian playing bass and leads Charlie Hunter style on Thursdays.“
“We stopped here for a quick drink before dinner. The taproom is very cool and a fun place to hangout and have a drink. We enjoyed the view from the top floor which looks over the park. It was great! I had the seasonal drink which was delicious and my husband really enjoyed his beer. We would definitely return here again.“
“If you ever want a wonderful wood fired pizza that won't bust the bank. Then this is the place to be! The food is wonderful (meat lovers are my favorite). The staff is friendly, and you can even bring your dogs to the covered patio! If you are a native to Madison County, this beats driving 20 mins to Weaverville to get a big box name pizza from people who don't care if the food is cooked or not. Stop, take a breath, and go to Madison brewing and pizza! I promise you will not regret it. My dad can even eat here because they even have gluten-free pizza crust! On top of other menu items from salads to pretzels! But don't take my word for it. Look at the takeout i brought home for lunch!Dietary restrictions: They have gluten-free pizza crust! And it is wonderful!!!“
“I stopped in today to try their pizza for lunch. I order a cheese as well as a Margherita pizza (wanted to take a pie home for the family to try). On Mondays they include a beer with the purchase of a cheese pizza or burger. It's too bad I was on the clock. Anyhow - Both pizzas were delicious, but the Margheritawas superior. Definitely an American take on Neapolitan style pizza. Do yourself a favor and find a reason to try their homemade ranch! That shiz should be bottled and sold everywhere! I will definitely be back with the wife to try some other menu items and beers. Cheers!“
“Archetype is a great brewery, but it's so much more than that! Check our the events calendar- they are always doing something different most nights of the week. Their rooftop is ideal for watching sunsets, and their big parking lot makes it an easy destination. I visit a few times a month for various events and am always pleased with their beer selection. You also have the option of getting pizza or gan shan from 2 of the adjacent restaurants, and I love that it's dog friendly!“
“It looks like a hole in the wall but wow. It's a cozy bar feel with maybe a dozen tables. The service was outstanding :) My wife wanted a sweet drink and our waiter asked some great questions and delivered a fantastic option. He was so friendly and attentive. We have had a couple of meals in Asheville and honestly hadn't had anything really great so our expectations weren't high. However, the food was fantastic. The fried pickles were outstanding, the spinach dips and homemade chips are incredible. You have to try the homemade chips they are really unique, light and super flavorful. I had the blackened chicken wrap and it was awesome. Food temps were perfect, everything came out hot. The whole night was a wonderful surprise. Also really economical too for 3 of us with drinks and apps it was $75. Highly recommend if you are looking for a hidden gem In Asheville!!“
“Visited in October 2014. Absolutely a must-visit spot. The Funkatorium serves an impressive selection of sour and funky barrel-aged Wicked Weed brews. The place charms with an interior that blends the warmth of a bodega with the conviviality of a German Bierstube. The absence of Wi-Fi was a minor inconvenience during my last visit, though this may have since been updated.“
“Have come here often, and it is most like a neighborhood pub that we've come across in Asheville. They have a nice selection of beers and wines. While the menu is limited, it has a variety and abounds in pub fare. Overall, a fun place for drinking.“
“Food was great. We stopped for brunch. The cheese on the shareable pretzel was spectacular. I had the btl. Only complaint was that the bread was really toaty but that's a me thing. My friends raved about the cheesesteak sandwich. The banana chocolate pancakes were also really good but could be a lot if you are not used to it. Service was great. I'd love to come back next time I'm in town!“
“We arrived a little early & they sat us immediately! The restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived so they didn't mind to go ahead & seat us. Our seever was AMAZING! Explained the menu & recommendations overall awesome place to eat!“
“I had a really good experience. I went with my family and our waiter was gracious and really seemed to be paying attention to what we needed. He didn't push drinks or dessert on us which I appreciated. My one issue was I ordered a half pound burger and it definitely was not an 8 oz patty it was maybe 5-6 ounces.“
“Literally best joint ever if you want to be local or not and feel welcomed as you are. Ask for EDDIE!Sirracha wings were saucy and WET. Everything was made with a lil extra as a the south is. My friend ordered the BLT great dose of Aioli, with a side of sweet potato fries with a spice along side of sweet and savory of waffley goodness.Parking: Park I rear“
“Great taproom small and cozy recommended by a local. Smaller on the interior but covered patio. Walking distance to Zebulon brewing and other great options in Weaverville. Staff and owners are welcoming and you are supporting a budding scene of great brews owner by great people. Cheers!!“
