We started with the fried mushrooms and they were DELICIOUS. We had the pot roast with mashed potatoes and brown gravy as our main course. Our sides were collards and fried okra and I felt like I was eating my mother’s Sunday lunch—and she was a WONDERFUL cook. The portions were HUGE and my husband and I shared the roast dinner. I highly recommend this restaurant and especially this meal.
Try the Mnt. Paddy's porter, it's fabulous. The food was all excellent, pot roast was great value and so well prepared- Lacy our server was so polite and provided the best service we've had in a long while. Top place.
Boondocks Brewing is where I had lunch after going to Ashe County Cheese Store and seeing some of the murals downtown. It is West Jefferson's first commercial brewery. The restaurant opened back in 2012. It is veteran-owned and employee-run. The restaurant doesn't have its own parking lot, but there is free parking on the street and in nearby lots.
There is both inside seating, with a bar, but I didn't get much of a chance to see that as I opted...
