“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I absolutely love this place. Their bentos, rice bowls, and udon have that authentic, comforting flavor that instantly takes me back to when I lived in Setagaya. The ingredients are always fresh, the portions are generous, and everything is seasoned the way Japanese home-style food should be — simple, clean, and deeply satisfying. The bento especially is my favorite: perfectly cooked rice, tender proteins, and all the little sides that make it feel like a real Japanese lunchbox. Even the presentation gives me that nostalgic “konbini-meets-local-shokudō” vibe. If you’re craving real Japanese comfort food, this is the spot. It’s the closest I’ve felt to being back in Japan without getting on a plane.“

“My husband, daughter, and I visited on 11/1, and everything was great! I had the Sushi Sashimi Fusion, our daughter got the Special Ramen, and my husband had the Ribeye Steak Bento. We also ordered Takoyaki to start — I hadn’t had it in almost 20 years, and it was very good! Everything was so delicious I couldn’t stop doing a little happy food dance. Our waiter was super kind, and when he found out it was our daughter’s birthday, he brought out fried cheesecake for us to share — such a sweet surprise! If I had one complain it would be the amount of options made it difficult to choose what I wanted(which is entirely my fault, not theirs). Maybe a suggestion would be to add a Chirashi Bowl option to the menu. The flavors brought me right back to my exchange trip to Japan as a teen. Highly recommend this place — it’s not super fancy, but the food is so good!“

“I absolutely love this family owned establishment. They have some of the best authentic cuisines. With the gluten free options and a gluten free menu. They ensure not only are the customers satisfied with the food, beverages and services- they also help sponsor the community and provide outside support for adaptable resources. The gluten free chicken fried rice is my favorite.“

“Kimono’s is my favorite Japanese place around. My go-to is spicy teriyaki steak with udon noodles and zucchini. It really doesn’t get much better.
The staff is always a treat as well, they are always very welcoming!
If you’re in the area and like Japanese food. I recommend giving Kimono’s a shot.“

“There's not enough space to describe how good Tokyo is ! Max is the best bartender around! We have loved getting to know him and enjoying all his concoctions! The owners are the sweetest people and know how to run a business! The food is always fantastic and the prices are reasonable! We come here weekly and don't plan on changing that anytime soon !“

“This restaurant is phenomenal. I have been here around 10 times now and have not been disappointed. The food is amazing, and the service is so fast it is almost unbelievable. It takes maybe 10-15 minutes for a takeout order on any day at any time and for dining in they always seem to have just enough space even when they are slammed. The onion soup is delicious and so is the hibachi steak. The serving of rice is kind of small but I have seriously never been disappointed by this place nor have I been left with an empty stomach. Thanks Mizu!“

“I have probably ordered from this place maybe 30 times over the course of three years and it is hands down my favorite place in Winston Salem by far for food that is cheap, consistent quality, and just delicious. Not many places I have ever given a 5 stars but I have never one in all my time at Wake Forest ever had a bad experience at Tokyo house“

“OH. MY. GOSH. This place is toe-curling dude. My best friend and I went here off a whim while walking downtown and brother... I was blown away. Some of THE BEST crab rangoons, Thai tea, Thai coffee, and chicken katsu I have EVER had. I nearly whimpered with every bite and clapped when the waitress asked how the food was. Almost wanna gatekeep this place. Would highly recommend.“
