The Rusty Bumper

Only one of two places we found ice cream in the Arts District. The cute black and white ice cream parlor décor you would expect and the owner(s) obviously love Elvis, as noted by the amount of memorabilia. Mostly ice cream but also homemade cake - by the slice or whole. Friendly staff and affordable treats. Ice cream for two was around $6. Looks like Wolfie's custard shut down....Rainbow sherbet makes an excellent back up plan!!!

Love this place! We were on our way to Atelier on Trade but arrived a bit late and there were not many pastries left so I decided to check out Rusty Bumper as I have never heard of it previously. What a great choice that was. There was a folk group inside singing and playing an array of instruments. It made the ambience to relaxing and homey. Very Good Lemon Sorbet Very Good Praline Pecan Priced about Right for what it is! People in the Arts District want Ice Cream! Are they going to be picky when it is HOT outside? Obviously there are some choices though none in a similar category in reasonable walking distance! OK, it is Blue Bunny Ice Cream, the Kind you can get at a local Grocer!
